If he really wants to be a main eventer, Cody needs to dumb himself down.
Or he needs to become executive vice president of the place he wrestles for. That works too.
Eh, Cody's still a midcarder. Still an average wrestler and above-average on the mic. IC/US Title-level is right around where he belongs.
Yet he managed to get over like a main-event guy and carries himself like one.
-
He's quite a bit like his dad in that regard.

Apparently WWE is loading up on talent for NXT Japan which is launching later this year. HHH has allegedly told several lower and mid card talents in wwe that they have the option to go there

runs in the genes. dusty wasn't particularly fast or strong or skilled in the ring but he was still over as fuck and regarded as a major star.

Carry himself like one, sure. Get over like one? Nah.

He's definitely over as one. As his reign as RoH world champion and NWA world title win has shown.
Honestly I think if a wrestlers happiness is dependent on their position in the company, they probably don't want to be in the WWE.
It's the biggest wrestling company in the world, with a very stacked roster. The vast majority of wrestlers they sign will be mid-carders at best. Which isn't to say they can't use the talent they have better, but at the end of the day there are only so many people they can push at once and only so many top stars they can have at once. For every AJ Styles, there's going to be 5-6 Heath Slates and Fandango's.
Though I suppose the flip side of that arguement is the ONLY wrestlers who make it to the top are the ones willing to take the chance and try. If AJ had assumed that it wouldn't happen and simply not bothered even trying to get a top spot in the WWE, he wouldn't have gotten one.
and even AJ is only a top guy on the B-show.
almas would have a lot more options than the average former WWE guy though, he'd instantly be a top guy in mexico, hot free agent in the states and europe, and i'm sure NJPW would love to use him again.
-
I've watched more Cody than I did in WWE ... other than All In ... that man is not over.

Also Almas was like a top 3 or 4 guy in CMLL, and a huge star in Mexico overall. So I could imagine him being dissatisfied going from that, to a glorified midcarder in WWE. Especially since, prior to the last three weeks or so, he was given nothing of note to do on SD.
WWE has been looking for the next big Latin superstar for years now. Well Almas could potentially be that guy if they play their cards right.

I think the problem is Almas can't cut a promo prior to being paired with Vega. He only really got pushed in nxt when they got paired up.
Vega herself honestly might have a better chance of being their next big Latin star because she can work the mic.

All In and AEW got him over though. He's become arguably the biggest internet wrestling darling, even though literally none of it has anything to do with what he's done in an actual wrestling ring.
-
That's what a manager is for, so that shouldn't be a problem.
-
That's what a manager is for, so that shouldn't be a problem.
It's a potential problem for Almas, because when a manager potentially gets bigger than the wrestler they SOMETIMES part ways. We have to remember she's not JUST a manager. She potentially is an in-ring competitor in her own right.
Course, I'm just speaking hypothetically. But if Vega really gets over and possibly becomes a more active wrestler rather than just a manager, she might end up doing her own thing. And that theoretically could leave Almas to sink or swim on his own. We've seen that with Trish, Lita, and Melina for example.
