Another of mine. A still frame from a video Jacob took on July 2, 2007, when Kate was in line for processing at R-Day.

written by STEVE ORLANDO

Melmoth has come to Gotham City, and he’s ready to use the dark forces of the city to carry out his final attack on the Multiverse at large. While he figured his old servant Frankenstein would be rallying his monstrous friends to give him trouble, Melmoth didn’t bargain on the Bat family taking notice. (Don’t they have enough to do with Bane and all that other stuff?) But take notice Batwoman has, and she’s looking to add some extra kick to the efforts of Killer Croc, Lady Clayface, and the rest. It may not be enough, however, when Melmoth puts one of their own— Andrew Bennett, a.k.a. I, Vampire—under his evil spell.

So, glad she's getting appearances again, she was seemingly out of action for while.
Super excited about the omnibus. But they shouldn’t include the annual IMO.

Yes, they should. It ties up the story adequately.

Respectfully disagree. It’s not Williams and Blackman’s ending, the publication of which was denied them out of spite. It’s disrespectful IMO. But I shouldn’t be surprised. They didn’t even give Williams a heads up about the omnibus.

How is that disrespectful? That story needed an ending, and it got one that's perfectly fine. Not great, not the original, but fine. Would you rather it just be a cliffhanger forever? No thanks.
And if DC deliberately left the one, singular issue that resolved the story out of a $100 book, how bad do you think the backlash to that would be?

Imagine you’re Williams. After constant editorial interference with your run, you decide to leave but want to explain your decision to the fans. DC punishes you (and, by extension, the fans) for the attention your explanation receives by not letting you finish the arc. DC then hires someone else to write an ending to your story. Years later, DC decides to publish an omnibus titled “Batwoman by JH Williams III” that includes this other person’s ending to your story. An ending you were in the process of writing but were not allowed to finish out of spite.
I find that disrespectful. If they want to include the annual, leave Williams’ name out of the title and call it Batwoman Omnibus Vol. 1 instead.

His comments are in reference to not being told in advance that an omnibus was being published.
Like with seemingly everything else Batwoman-related, we’ll have to agree to disagree.

Yes. And he doesn't seem too bothered by the supposed "disrespect" of it. He doesn't seem to bear the book any ill will.

I just don't get why so many people are still so bent out of shape and prickly about this. Did what happened suck? Yes, absolutely. But that was six years ago, yet doesn't seem to have died down one bit.
