Yeah, I really liked that period because we got to see how they would interact as a couple for an extended length of time. No games, no teases, just one fully understanding relationship; it's a side we haven't really seen in the books in a long while and it was fun and enjoyable to go through. That's what's really exciting about Bat/Cat 2020 to me, getting that repertoire back in full force.
But the games and teases are half the fun, even when they're together :p.
I have read Hush, Heart Of Hush, Gotham City Sirens, I agree those are the best examples previously of portraying their relationship. Haven't read Brubaker's Catwoman so might check that out.
Just for context it was probably the period where they were closest to being together or at least where there was a chance for it as Selina was starting to become a hero in her own right, even if there was still a bit of a dance going on and they had their own obligations and relationships that prevented them from being together.
And Brubaker is much better at Bruce and Selina's voices then King in my opinion. I miss the days when Bruce actually called Selina by her name...

Out of context I really like these pages.
In context, hoo boy, hard to say.

Yeah, pacing has been a real issue for this run. Maybe it'll read better in TPB, maybe it won't. I lean towards the latter.
Batman wouldn't be this bad of a father.

So this issue is....
[spoil] a filler issue. just to bring back Bat/Cat. Not one mention of what's going on in Gotham [/spoil]

I'm about as surprised as I'm asleep.
Not at all, that is :p

Lol
This series might as well just be a photo book.

This new issue was pretty much that.

Apart from the art, shit. Looking forward to King's Batman run coming to an end. I don't have confidence in him using the Phantasm from Mask of the Phantasm either.
-
King should just cut the word count down to zero and let the readers choose their own narration and dialogue. That seems to be where this is headed anyway.
"Bat" is not a line of dialogue.

I think a choose your own adventure Batman title would be light years more satisfying than King's story as things presently stand. :D

I'm glad to see Bruce is stable(or close to stable as someone written by Tom King can be) with Selina around, but their vacation is poorly timed. There's a city to save, Bane needs to be put down and Thomas needs to be forcibly and painfully relocated to a retirement home.

The dialogue this issue was so bad, I would have been overjoyed if Bruce and Selina just fell off that cliff so they would shut up forever.
-
This book is actively turning me from indifferent about BatCat to straight up despising it. I don't know how anyone can care about these two.

Before issue #50 I was very much pro BatCat but now I could care less. King destroyed my interest in a pairing I was invested in literally for decades, good job Mr. King. :p
IMO, If Marvel wants to backburner Peter/MJ permanently (as they arguably tried to do during and post- OMD) they should hire King to write the next run of Amazing Spider-Man he'll do the trick.

I feel same. Man, I'll be chuffed when Tom King's gone from Batman.
