I was aware of who were Jay, Barry, Wally, and Bart even before I started to read comics.
The first comic I actually read was Crisis on Infinite Earths, so the answer could be Barry, however, I was also reading at the same time Final Crisis, so it could be Wally and Jay.
The first Flash series that I read was the one after Infinite Crisis, with Bart as the Flash.
BUT, the first Flash that I met, when I was only a 5 years-old kid and didn't know anything about comics, was Wally, thanks to Justice League Animated Series. I also really liked him in the few episodes from Teen Titans were he appeared, and in Young Justice, and in the last few months, I read his complete series as The Flash, from 1 - 247 + 0 & 1,000,000 and some one-shots, plus Morrison's JLA. He is my favorite speedster.
So, why did you select "Wally West (post-CoIE Flash)" as "the 1rst DC Comics version of "The Flash" you ever read in a comic book"?

Because COIE (Barry) is the first comic book/story I fully read, however, I read Final Crisis #2 and #3 (Wally & Jay and later Barry) before reading COIE.

Wally West is the answer. I will never read Flash again 'cause DC ruined legacy by chaning the most succesful legacy character Welly back to Barry... And ruined Legacy... unforgivable.

Wally West...back during Grant Morrison's JLA run.

This is one of the first images of the Flash I ever recalling seeing.
I grew more familiar with the Flash by watching Wally on the JL cartoon. As a result, a lot of my perception on the Flash in general and Wally in particular was shaped by that interpretation - the light-hearted, young, brash clown of the group, but the one who was the Justice League's real 'heart'.
Of course, these days, the version I follow the most is the CW Flash TV show, which is largely inspired by Geoff Johns' Rebirth and the version of Barry Allen we've broadly had since then. But because of my long history with Wally I was thrilled to have him back with Rebirth and I'm really looking forward to seeing where they take the character now.

I LOVED Grant Morrison's take on Wally.
His run with Mark Millar was also good fun.

I still can't believe the numbers for Barry and for Wally are running so close.
I wonder how many who voted Barry first encountered him before he died in Crisis on Infinite Earths in 1985 and how many first read about him in a story after he returned in Final Crisis in 2008?

Wally West as Kid Flash in The New Teen Titans. Must've been.
Wally West as Kid Flash in The New Teen Titans. Must've been.
But that would be Wally as "Kid Flash", not as "THE Flash", wouldn't it?

This is NOT asking which one is your favorite.
The question is which did you first read when he was officially called "The Flash" in a comic book story . . .
. . . ALSO NOTE: We're specifically referring to these characters being "The Flash", not their time when they went by other identities.

I'm one of the people who started BEFORE Crisis on Infinite Earths.
