I really love that one too. Have you read "My Heroes Have Always Been Junkies" by Ed Brubaker. That's probably one of my favorite Image comics. Feels kind of like a Scorsese film.
Ok I’m growing tired of Marvel and DC so I’m doing an image dive to get excited about comics again.
Here is what I’ve tried so far:
Invincible ultimate collection 1- LOVED IT! Will continue.
Gideon Falls Vol 1- wouldn’t say I loved it but damn I’m intrigued and want to know what happens next.
Fire Power- Really enjoyed! Think I will continue.
I have Descender Vol 1 and Something is Killing The Children vol 1 coming this week.
What else should I check out?
Image series I really like:
Saga
Invincible
Outcast
Oblivion Song
Gideon Falls
Paper Girls
Fire Power
Sex Criminals
Black Science
Lazarus
Kill or Be Killed
Stillwater
The Private Eye
Radiant Black
We Stand On Guard
For me I am enjoying
Mercy
Lady Mechanika
Nocterra
Merciless
Monstress
If someone told me "I've never read comics before but want to get into them, where should I start?", Saga would probably be my #1 recommendation for most people, unless they specifically wanted superheroes.
I'll put in my votes for Sex Criminals, The Wicked and the Divine, Die, and Ice Cream Man as well. And based on the stunning first issue, the new 4-issue wordless-fantasy mini Step by Bloody Step looks like it may be a classic, too.
I just started reading Nocterra and I'm into it! I also just got into RAIN as well and enjoying that book too. After not reading comics in about 3 years I'm diving head first into a lot of different series. I have the first 2 trades of Thief of Thieves that's pretty interesting as well.
100 % agree on Nocterra. Rogue Sun is a new series. Its three issues in and has been very good. Good story and art with a good mystery building.
