It didn't work but it wasn't a big deal at all that it was made to be. It was 100% "pandering" but so was half the battle lol
It was cheesy but ultimately innocuous.
IMO, it didn't serve any purpose but it didn't hurt either.
Although, I didn't really like Endgame's final battle beyond the Big 3 vs Thanos.
Very true particularly with GoT.
Emilia Clarke isn't a great actor. I would argue that Kit Harrington isn't great either.
I actually liked Richard Madden in that Bodyguard series that he did on BBC but that seemed to play to his strength....stoic and "straight laced".
They're not the greatest actors, although I don't think Clarke is terrible. But quite a few GoT actors were better.

Pandering is only bad when it's to women and/or minorities/s
But honestly the individual hero vs villain battles tend to better than big CGI army battles IMO
You could post 1000 stories about transgender individuals being physically attacked and I would feel sympathy for every one of them, but none of it would make me believe that Dave Chappelle caused any of it with his words. Correlation does not equal causation. I know it makes some people feel good to win a symbolic battle when the real battle seems almost impossible to win, but I still don't want to waste time fighting symbolic battles when the real battles are so much more important. I'd rather spend my time fighting state legislators who submit anti-trans bills than fighting to get Dave Chappelle de-platformed.
And this got passed yesterday...
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Monday signed a bill that would ban K-12 transgender students from playing on sports teams that match their gender identity — the first such bill to become law in the state, after dozens of similar bills were introduced and debated over three special legislative sessions.
The bill is the first piece of anti-trans legislation in Texas to actually become law in recent years. The state’s effort to restrict trans Texans’ bathroom usage failed to reach the governor’s desk in 2017 after a similarly intense special session. Texas is now the ninth state this year to pass legislation restricting how trans athletes can join school sports.
LGBTQ+ advocates are worried about the direct aftermath of the bill, which could subject trans students in interscholastic sports to scrutiny and harassment, as well as the potential for similar bills targeting trans youth to become law in Texas if another special session is called.

Now, this is the stuff that I find very disturbing and is stuff that people really, really REALLY need to speak up about.
I've long spoke about how troubling I find the red states passing anti-trans laws.
Beyond this, the red states are really going out of their way to enforce "backward looking laws" from the anti-crt nonsense to anti-trans laws.
And what I find troubling is I'm not really seeing enough push back against all this stuff.

Well, sports wise, it is because a lot of people agree with it.

So the Michael B. Jordan project is confirmed to be the Val Zod character and not an alternative take on classic Superman.
I know nothing about Val Zod other than he was the Earth 2 Superman for about 5 minutes and he's a Pacifist.
Lord knows how they are going to explain this character to a casual audience when even I don't quite understand him either.

I have no feelings on the scene with female characters from Endgame, but the complaints about it being pandering came largely from female critics. The Boys parodied it while doing a version of the idea that seemed to be better received.

I have a feeling Coates/Abrams project isn't going to get off the ground ala Ava's thing.

As it should've. There was only one Black actor in the whole movie. And no Black Egyptians at all.

Really? Most of the complaints I saw were guys online acting like feminism was destroying the MCU.

Val is also the son of Earth 2 Zod, who was a pacifist, that's where Val learned it from. He dated power girl too, but she broke up with him and he became a bearded loser for a while. At least they're trying something different this time. At least they're leaving the New Gods alone, for now.

The alien scene could carry more than one other of these options. A black scene is one with a deep discount off rip, especially if no Wakandan's are involved.
Tessa Thompson, Alfrie Woodard, am I missing anybody to go along with the Sam Jack Fury, Rhodey and Sam conversation? None of them with any associated WAG's mind you to divert the conversation away from Tony or Steve. I guess Woodard's character did have a kid. Gotta throw in a Ouija board so we can try and reach Hemidal. Not sure if the van T.I. drove even had his name on the title.

The Wakandans were at the battle though
T'challa with Okoye, Shuri, M'baku behind him, Sam and Rhodie start to fly overhead.. Valryie on her horse.
Let's add Wong to the team and call it POC instead of black ? lol
