Why am I not surprised?
This is exactly why I said I want to wait and see what Marvel want to do with Captain America.

He's a white icon. He'll never be replaced. Anytime a Captain America movie comes out title Captain America it will be Steve Rogers. Same with Batman same with Spider-Man and any other character that's not black trying to make top billing in Hollywood.

OG would have been mid. T'Challa would have returned...then again maybe not as well. Gotta remember he worked with Chad and knew him as well so he could have optioned to do the same. Only difference is the Shuri would make sense as BP.
My preference was Fuqua lol either way black panther was going to be successful no matter what as we all have known for the last couple decades. The IP is gold an untapped. It's a shame what they're about to do to it though

Yes but the level of success varies. Just like BP II will be successful as well. By disney/marvel standards it will be a success... By Black Panther I standards remains to be seen. Even of Chad was still alive it would be tough to best BPs lightning in a bottle set up. But it needs to hit high 800k ww atleast for the sequel to be considered a success to its predecessor. Which I have doubts it will
My claims are not to be taken leisurely. equal opportunity employment… for creative BP team…
A battle worth fighting… BP fans
Imagine a story of a group of guys taking on a fake persona. What a story that would be.

From the time I was born to NOW
8 guys be Batman
2 Wonder Women
5 Superman
4 James Bonds
9 Dr Who
3 Supergirls
5 Peter Parkers
How many versions of Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, Transformers and GI Joe have we had?
Hasbro was SCARED to introduce Beast Wars that they declined to attend event to introduce them.
Lets not forget Gatcham AKA Battle of the Planets AKA G-Force AKA Eagle Riders-ALL within a 8 year span.
We can't get another guy to be Black Panther? Something is not right about that.
Niose! Check "One Night In Miami" for strong BM actors
Speaking of strong black male leads for BP... CB4… FLEX HECTIC aka Wacky D

Oh man that looks great. Can't wait.
I think with Tony Stark dying, Chad no longer being here/opting to not recast T'Challa that it made Feige a bit shook. Needed Steve Rogers to transition this next phase.

Wacky D huh... ;)
Burbank, California.
The offices of Mickey "Money" Mouse.
Chris Evans: "Once we get the contract situation straightened out I'll be good to go."
Mickey: "Great... I appreciate this and Disney will compensate you properly. Send the next appointment in."
Chris Evans departs as two new mystery guests arrive in together.
Mickey: "Oh right the both of you... Have a seat you two. I thought this over extra carefully and I agreed with the other executives and shareholders to put you guys out front and center. So what we need is a definitive direction for the Black Panther and with your star power and his creative genius we can make magic as well as money together exponentially."
The two mystery guests cloaked in hoodies and dark shades nod in agreement.
Mickey: "Good, very good. Now we have set up a photo op at a discreet location so I will need you two to travel there right now for early promotions."
The two mystery guests turn and smile to each other as they are escorted out by Goofy and Pluto.
Minnie Mouse who had been seated in the far corner glancing at her new hairdo in a mirror and occasionally looking at the meeting chimes in...
Minnie: "You are actually going to go through with this... That's some extreme Trolling right there."
Mickey: "What needs to be done has to be done... And why are you spending all that time on your hair when you know I'm gonna mess it up anyway."
Minnie: "Promises promises."
Mickey: "Lock the door and get over here you know how Mickey do!"
Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Well actually many miles outside of Albuquerque in a desert somewhere.
The two mystery figures looking all "Dusty" and abandoned as tumbleweeds roll by finally reveal themselves from beneath their hoodies.
Ray Fisher: "WTF... Goofy and Pluto just dropped us here in the middle of no where! Where is the film crew?"
Paul Muad'Dib: "This is Mickey's plan to avoid paying the great Paul Muad'Dib for all the ideas he has stolen from me. The great Paul Muad'Dib will get his revenge. Paul Muad'Dib is the..."
Ray Fisher: "You mind not talking in the third person it's getting annoying... We need to get back to civilization before we starve or dehydrate out here."
As the two converse a mound of dirt begins to move closer to them.
Startled as the mound opens up to reveal...
Bugs Bunny: "What's up doc!"
Bugs pulls out a carrot and begins chomping down hard.
Ray Fisher: "Mister Bunny, you came out here to rescue me. I would like to apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused you and Warner and would like my old job back."
Paul Muad'Dib: "Paul Muad'Dib invented Bugs Bunny... You stole the Space Jam idea from Paul Muad'Dib."
Bugs Bunny: "Nope, I just came here to see if Mickey would go through with this. Hahahaha... You should have made that left turn at Albuquerque you N!&&@$ is dusty out here peace out!"
With that Bugs plops back down in his hole and digs himself away...
Insert your own bars right here... ;)
