IMO they aren’t interesting enough to create an entire crossover event around

Big disagree! Theres a ton of untapped potential there. Throw in Northstar, Aurora and Rogue cuz I bet they have bones to pick as well.

Hmmm, yeah if done right that would be a great mini! Lord knows so many other characters that are on the lame side have been getting spotlighted.
just a thought I came up, why don't they just immediately send in a lot of x-men to destroy the vault before they finish with their preparations to fully invade? doesn't even have to be all the mutants, just a lot of their stronger ones should do. if just laura, synch and darwin are enough rebuff most of their attacks and even in the late future times synch could fight them off himself and they only really got screwed off when they lost their powers.

That would pretty much be murder and its not how they handle things. If this is a valid approach, then why not just go to Orchis and blow up the space station? Why even stop there?

the vault might as well be like a mother sentinel or whatever the term was for the sentinel that creates others, since its like an AI that just wants to be making more things to destroy mutants(and humans). heck their gate is literally constructed right under another sentinel. also from this point on the children of the vault have been branded as not humans while the orchis is still manned by humans. and don't forget they actually did attack and blow up orchis' space station when they figured out they were making a huge sentinel up there that could apparently evolve into nimrod, the only reason they aren't attacking right now is mystique is hiding the fact that they are getting close to making a nimrod again.

They destroyed the Mother Mold; they didnt blow up the station. The station still exists. Prior to the mission, both Scott and Jean reaffirmed that they wanted to keep the casualties as low as zero as possible. Now you may have some characters like Exodus or Mystique that think nothing of the life of others but thats not sentiment thats generally shared and would be condoned by QC as a whole or the X-men. To sanction a team to go in and just kill them all isnt something I see flying. You'd have to get someone like Sinister to do it in private and deal with the consequences after

alright how about they minimize the killing of the children but still go into the vault to destroy that big mechanical head AI that seems to be running things? because if they wait not only would it likely create a lot of casualties on their side, they might also lose if the vault actually got the right and accurate data. if they pre-emptively attacked the station to destroy the mother mold before it could pose a big threat then they should do the same here.
