Beast was hit hard for her death too. And Rachel.

Jean didnt even get a funeral/memorial. All we got was Scott making out with Emma over her headstone

We had Scott abandoning the X-men because of it...and the world went to hell because he did. And then Jean changed the past and saved the world, which beats a funeral, I think.

Yes, that was bad, terrible even. They were only post-Morrison writers who did the Beast and Rachel thing.
I suppose Morrison wanted to tell his strange story of the future with Phoenix forcing the timeline so Scott would kiss Emma.
Uh... wasn’t Rahne on Wolverine’s X-force? She got killed by four kids? Didn’t she eat the reverend Craig?
Also, Kwannon just bounced.. off panel. Rahne’s killers killed off panel.
Can someone find these missing panels where everything takes place?!
Her death was lame. Like he couldnt even have killed her in Asgard and have her reunite with her wolf prince and baby?
Hell if her death was meant to make Scott and Logan feel responsible for letting her go in spite of rising tension against mutantkind, why not have it be at the hands of stray Purifiers or some other anti-mutant group? Instead, she died because she, a goddamn werewolf who is a veteran X-Man, refuses to defend herself when 4 frat boys beat her down unarmed. Not like she could have gotten them off her easily or used that secondary mutation she seems to have forgotten about and fled. No, clearly lying there and getting beaten to death was the only option. These deaths are reaching the point that you don’t even feel angry about them anymore, just pure apathy at them wasting yet another perfectly good character.
Rahne should have beaten those four fratboys with a pinkie but she "did not want to defend herself"
Because reasons*
*Reasons are that Rosenberg does not know how to write women.

That does sound pretty absurd (as was Blindfold's suicide).
But maybe these events serve as clues that not everything is as it seems? The whole thing could be a gigantic illusion just like aoxm.

That thought was just hiting me now. Jean death was so badly done that we didn't got a funeral with eulogy. Scott didn't even respected her
And then here he complain that Logan didn't support the team. Screw Scott hipocrisy
We had Scott abandoning the X-men because of it...and the world went to hell because he did. And then Jean changed the past and saved the world, which beats a funeral, I think.
It was about Scott abandoning X-men, not about Jean making a difference. The phoenix Jean said to him live and then he just made on her grave like she meant nothing to him.
nah it doesn't beat a funeral that i'm sure.
What piss me off is that people take almost 20 years to complain about Rosenberg, that still did the stuff leagues better than Morrison

He respected her. We live on the timeline where Phoenix!Jean forced him to kiss Emma.
It's a mess.

Phoenix Jean didn't made him make out with Emma. Scott did on his own, she said to him live. He could at least waited to get out of cemitery but he just didn't cared.
everytime I think about this issue and Morrison's Scott, I just get more pissed off on his hipocrisy.
Baby? Tier has grown up but was killed by Guido.
Rahne reconciled with Guido in NM dead souls.
Did you not read New Mutants dead souls?
Havok just used 'baby' as a synonym for child.
Any opportunity to hate on Cyclops and people make a ant look like whale. No idea what his ex has to do with this book.
It was a good read, and on Emma when did she have the time to do this and why? Ohh please let it be something interesting and not some boring stuff.

The whole Scott forgetting Emma thing reeks of Sinister. We know the Marauders are showing up in the next issues, there's the whole Sinister/Emma theory. This whole thing being a illusion of his could be a bad, but plausible solution.
Also, someone please tell the Scott hater to keep it in their pants or move to the thread created for the very purpose of debating why Scott is bad for Jean, Jean is bad for Scott and so on. This thread doesn't need further derailment.

The mess is Marvel not giving Jean a memorial issue. Most characters that die get this and we were cheated out of that scene. The only thing of her funeral we got was the aftermath with Scott kissing Emma. It was in poor taste. X-men Unlimited was still in print at that time and the funeral could have happened there but it didnt
