Yeah, that was kind of strange, to say the least.
David Liss in my top 3 Panther solo writers.
Of all the Panther solo writers, he got capped in the knees with a baseball bat to start off his run. Dude was given a premise that nobody liked and turned chicken isht into chicken salad. He wasn't king, wasn't Panther, no vast resources, living in Hell's Kitchen. He won just about every Panther fan over with how he handled T'Challa.
I always say that he was pretty much writing his version of Born Again for BP.
What do you think of a new consideration as BP writer. Chuck Brown from Black Manta?

Wasn't he one of the writers on BP soul of a machine?
This lol definitely not BP. Especially after seeing in raised by wolves
Actors are capable of showing off more than one side. No one would have guessed Heath Ledger could be the Joker.

Like you’d expect him to at least have somewhat of an African accent.

So far the Black Manta current run is giving some ancient lineage to the Hyde family tree. So its more a globe trotting adventure/mystery story.
Concerning character depiction of Black Manta. He is still that homie in the streets that will gut you if you infront of his path or goal. And care little for how people see him. So the people around Black Manta is kinda the crew to keep him level.
Its fast pace and not trying to add sub plots to the story.

I was shop reading 2 issues of and liked it enough to decide I'm getting the compiled arc when its released. Like Hellscream said he keeps the story basic, but well told you are getting layers of depth for him, while still writing balance. You can still dude an a-hole, but with a lil shot of that hotel bruh we all bump into. The write is decent in giving voice to first, second and third level characters. That's how I felt.

Sounds sweet. I guess I’ll give that series a shot. Helps that Manta is one of my favorite DC villains.
