Naturally he mentions the heat he got for Emma's depiction. lol But notes he was just keeping with continuity after IvX.
Interesting he mentions getting questions on Cronet. I wish he'd answer them if so, because even though it's filler now, I'd like to hear where that would've gone. His Uncanny still has my attention more than any book since. Maybe Wave II will change that.
But Bunn also shares that HOX and Hickman was in place before he started Uncanny and that the books were filler.
So Hell, seems starting with Remender's AXIS almost, nothing mattered. Shame.
-
I like Bunn. I hope he will return to write X books soon.
-
It sounds like it was an ugly divorce.
-
Bunn had good ideas, but his execution is very disappointing.
-
Sad he had to follow that character assassination from IvX through.

Bunn: You know, it was a weird project. All of those projects were weird, especially Uncanny and Blue, because we had kind of been given marching orders that we couldn’t change anything with the X-Men. I mean, we were very limited with where we could go with the story because the plans for House of X–those were already in play when I first started writing Uncanny X-Men. We knew. It was like the worst-kept secret at Marvel. Like, “We got another plan.” Yeah, it’s Jonathan Hickman–everybody knows it! But that was in place when I took over Uncanny X-Men. To some degree, it was like placeholder stuff.
Wow. It wasn't just months of filler leading into the Hickman Era, it was years.
-
Nice view about the character Emma Frost.
Bunn did a good job on Blue most of times even with editors basically writing the book too. His generations Jean Grey was pretty good, glad it was him and not hopeless

Yeah, I saw that and almost forgot.
So this thing has been going on for years, so I guess we were lied again and again.

Of course you would say that. He says he prefers her kicking puppies and twirling her mustache. Can't imagine why you would agree with him.

If that was the worse she did, but she made a lot worse;
Some people liked Emma as villain, since being a hero was forced

With this new account presented here today, I will be formally requesting that the House open an inquiry to investigate and objectively determine what the HECK the X-Office even was before they were given a hickey.

BS. If anything her being a villain was forced, with her doing stupidly evil acts for basically no reason. In her first appearances, she was a Captain Planet villain, blowing up oil tankers and torturing hobos just for the evuls. God forbid that actually characterize her after the deaths of her students.

Bunn didn't wrote Emma as being a mustache twirling villain at all.
I'm not big on the "let's give characterization to a villain so everyone gonna say she/he is misunderstood"

And that's fine, but her heel/face turn happened in 1990. Seems a little late to complain about it now.

Bunn had Emma try to rape Teen Scott.

Well she was ok with Jean being sexually assaulted, same from when she was on ororo's body. Emma lied to Scott about mind sex being for therapy.
It is not OOC at all

Who is to say I'm complaining now, instead of before?
