Hasn't Punk been battling injuries during his training the last couple of years ? Again given Punks 2014 and schedule before this (he defended the belt over 100+ times) his body wasn't in Batista's shape. Batista it seems was in better physical shape and was able to go do a MMA career quicker than Punk. In summer 2010 he announced he was gonna do something with Strikeforce. The company was sold to UFC , then once that happened he did a smaller MMA show in October 2012.
Punk due to shoulder , back etc had to train for 3 years before he stepped into the ring.
MMA isn't easy by a long shot. But here was 2 different guys who were in different physical condition.
I think Batista is more athletic than people give him credit for and Punk is less athletic than he deserves to be recognized for.
Batista limbered up and got smaller, Punk had to gain and limber up. A much hard task to do. Nagging injuries don't help, either.

Kevin Nash discussed Hulk Hogan in a shoot...
- Hogan had become stagnate by the time the NWO arrived. So having him and Scott there in his ear seemed to give him some ideas. That Hulk would take what they'd recommend , mix with his own and go from there. And it CLICKED. That he would steal the show and he'd steal the Wrestlemania against Rocky and steal the Wrestlemania against Vince.
- But he was worried when he 1st came in with Scott. They had came there and was shooting NWO vignette promos and him n Scott were talking in sound bites and clicking what they needed. Hogan meanwhile was struggling and would go into 5 minute rants and do "brother , brother" and Nash was worried. That he was worried it wasn't gonna work. Bischoff came up and said we can make this work. We can make it happen and to his credit ...Bischoff made things work. So he'd cut Hogan's stuff into sound bites , Hulk modified himself as time went on and became Hollywood Hogan.
- Nash was asked about the decision to go B&W and grainy with the camera effects for the NWO. Nash gives props to Bruno Maheim (spelling sorry) who was the director and who named the New World Order. He also came up with the logo as well. That is him saying NEW WORLD ORDER over n over in those vignettes and all.
- Bischoff he claims , when he would lay things out for him booking wise...you have to pitch it in a way because Bischoff would visualize it on TV in a sense. Bischoff would ask , ok now what are you doing here ? Then we hear about something that didn't air. In fact Nash brings up the famous angle where they ran the Steiner's off the road.

Anyhow after this Nash claims that they shot a court room spot where the Steiner's vs Hall/Nash/Syxx were in court. Anyhow the entire deal would be spliced through a Nitro in spots. They would try and make it appear real as they had CNN and all. The final spot would be where they go to play the tape Syxx shot and...its blank. The judge finds no evidence this happened and the one cop opens his shirt to reveal...HE'S NWO TOO and erased the tape. Now the Steiner's REALLY wanna kill the NWO !
They shot this for over 5 hours during one day. Come Monday , they have the Steiner's show up and beat up NWO and this never sees the light of day.
- Nash claims the entire deal likely had one of the folks from the other tower go , what the hell....you guys trying to kill people over there ? He claims that Disney got mad when he took Mysterio and threw him like a lawn dart into the production truck. S & P (Standards & Practices) were constantly trying to get involved in the angle and what they can and can't do. It got worse with the Time Warner deal and its like a bunch of suits who didn't want this company now were saddled with it.

I think is a tough dude with a lot of heart ... but I don't think he's a legit athlete. He didn't win the genetic lottery.
It's the Rocky Balboa story, if you sub out Rocky for a fan in the crowd.

Jackson won't be fighting in the UFC anytime soon, so maybe he can try hitting up Vince for work.

Dana White seems to say its over for CM Punk at his age and all in UFC. That he gives him all props for doing what he did the last couple years but his age and being 0-2 it maybe time to move on.

But he's fucking pissed at Mike Jackson who he called unprofessional and almost a lot of MMA guys walked away giving props to Punk who did a lot more than most. White said as far as he's concerned Jackson is 0-2 in UFC and blew his chance.
Honestly I think more people were suprised that it went 3 rounds than tbey were that Punk was outclassed.
I'd still say Jackson being out of a job despite winning over his performance is more humiliating than Punk losing a fight no one thought he would win.
LOL. couple of things here, 1)if you're thinking jackson was going to get signed to a multi fight deal if he finished punk you're sadly mistaken. he's not a prospect like mickey gal was. at best he would've got a spot in the contender series and got his ass kicked and possibly seriously injured. 2)jackson made a mistake in judgement, he thought showboating would get him more attention and didn't realize he was also embarrassing dana white. NO WAY is that more humiliating than what he did to punk in the fight, not even close.
it would be like getting your ass kicked at school by a nerd and then claiming the nerd was more embarrassed because he's the one that got in trouble.

again, he fought mike jackson. you don't need years of training to compete with an entry level fighter, that's why they're called "entry level" fighters.

punk didn't have to gain to make 170lbs, pretty sure he cuts weight like everybody else.

jesus christ, mike jackson is apollo creed in this scenario??

Mike Jackson started training for UFC since 2008. He's had a decade in MMA training compared to Punk's 3-4 years of training.

Again, that mistake in judgement got him called an idiot and publicly fired after winning the fight.
The average person might not know or even cared that he wasn't signed had he simply put Punk away. That happens all the time. But now he's publicly being called an idiot and publicly being told he will never fight for the UFC. Huge difference between that and quietly not getting getting signed behind the scenes becausee he's not good enough. It's not just about not having a job anymore .. it's the way it was done. And that was the fall out of his showboating.
Man that punk UFC fight was brutal he's damaged he's rep beyond repair now I don't think he can get back to the position he had if he returned to WWE they'd probably just make him a jober. How long before they Boot him from UFC? And what is/can he do next?
I just watched that fight...Punk got f-ed up badly!
Punk should simply go home and enjoy his money, REAL fighting is not his calling.

super, he had 1 amateur fight in 2009 and didn't fight again until 2016, you really think he was training all that time(not to mention where he was training)??
Again, that mistake in judgement got him called an idiot and publicly fired after winning the fight.
dana white is known for saying stupid **** all the time, and i'm not sure how he fired jackson any more than he fired cm punk.

if you want to go that route the average person still doesn't know or care if he was signed nor what dana said after the fight. they just know they saw punk getting his ass whipped & toyed with by an 0-1 fighter they never heard of. in his home town.
