Now, who DON'T you want to see handling the Avengers after Aaron. Of course, it has to be someone that is an actual possibility of taking over one of Marvel's main books.
Peace
Cates would be the worst candidate to take over the Avengers after Aaron.
What!? I had not idea, I gotta look into it (even though I am not a big fan of Venom)

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Al Ewing.
Oh, wait, I thought it was who DO you want to see handling The Avengers :p.
Um...I guess any X-Writers who write the Avengers as ineffectual and out of touch.

Cates is off Venom; it's Ewing and Ram V currently.

My bad, I meant Ewing is handling cosmic stuff w/ Brock whereas Ram V will handle Dylan Venom on Earth.

I would be up for a new take, but Busiek returning would also be gold.
I miss reading an Avengers run that really felt big and classic.

Busiek is doing solid work on The Marvels right now...which I guess is kind of a team book, yet not?

Most of the X-writers are doing a pretty bad job with the mutants, never mind how they handle the Avengers.

Agreed. Busiek's run was the last classic feeling Avengers book. There have been a few smaller runs that have been nice attempts since then, but for the most part Avengers has not felt right since Austen started writing the book.
