That frustration they feel is of their own doing. That's on those X-fans who think and believe that Comic book writers are and should be writing fan-specific/demanded stories catering specifically to their personal wants and desires.
THAT has never...ever...been the case.
Just to add on to this DoX already reads like a fan wish list.
-Renewed prominence, narritive importance to the X-line as a whole.... check
-No more misery porn.... check
-A List talent assigned to the X-Books.... check
-More prominent minority representation.... check
-More specifically, better LGBTQ representation.... check
-No more overuse of a small number of characters appearing in every book, clogging the whole line (Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm etc.).... check
-As a subset of the prior more use of the vast number of X-Characters instead of the same handful (The prominent characters are driving the narrative but lots more characters are being used).... check
-The return/repowering of missing, underused/misused characters (Xavier, Moira, Prodigy, Polaris, Sage, Synch, Skin, Banshee, Syrin, etc.).... check
-Wolverine, Cyclops and Jean being used well and without it being all about the love triangle (the books not the forum).... check
-More Space/Shi'ar stories.... check
-More connected to the greater MU (So far we've had the FF, Namor, Batroc, Doom in the upcoming FF/X-Men book, Hate-monger and its been name dropped in Hulk).... check
Thing is, the wait and see approach requires some good will and for a lot of people the X-office has used that good will up. So being wary of things is to be expected. Especially when they have to deal with other fans attacking them for showing any sign of negativity at all.
I'll give this Children of the Atom book a chance like I did all the others...but I don't have high hopes for it. Seen things play out the same way too many times to not think it'll play out similarly. If it doesn't, pleasant surprise but like I said...so far I'm not predicting good things.
I have faith in what's to come because I've been pleased with how HOX/POX/DOX turned out. But that's just me so I can understand people feeling suspect if they haven't been happy with the new status quo.
You're entirely wrong.
If you're trying to sell someone something, you'd be an idiot to not pay attention to what they're telling you they want. Not to mention that they're claiming they're making things for every X-fan so its on them when they leave some people out and those people are unhappy about it.
Well, it seems the majority of readers like what's been released so that tells me Marvel is indeed paying attention. The list posted above displays that they have listened to a lot of fans' requests.

Exactatiously!!! And further to Kis's list...
And yet still...there are those who are still quite frustrated and mired in abject misery.
I wonder why is that?

Just because other people like something, doesn't invalidate that some people don't. It also doesn't mean there's no reason for them to dislike something or that because some others like it that its perfect.
And obviously not everyone agrees that list is right or done in a satisfactory way.

Definitely not invalidating anything, just responding to "If you're trying to sell someone something, you'd be an idiot to not pay attention to what they're telling you they want". To me it seems like they are paying attention but will they please everyone? Not in my lifetime!
-
Even the revered Lord and Saviour Claremont had his detractors. They have never been able to please everyone, they will never be able to please everyone. Not in any of our lifetimes.
So what do you do?
Do you suck it up and buy that X-Factor book even-though you can't stand Eyeboy (or Glob, Kate, Kid Cable, etc.)...because it has Polaris and Daken and Northstar?
Or,
Do you not buy it, and feel miserable and frustrated because...the writer did not take your personal loathing of Eyeboy (or Glob, Kate, Kid Cable, etc.) into account when they were forming the team?
It's your choice and your happiness.
While feeling frustration is valid (we've all been there)...the reason for the frustration...specifically feeling as though the writers are not listening to you personally, or not paying the right amount of attention to the posters here, elsewhere and everywhere (that isn't their job)...really isn't.

Why do people hate Eyeboy? What has Trevor done to earn such wrath?

tbh, Dude keeps looking at me wrong... giving me the side eye:confused:
Why do people hate Eyeboy? What has Trevor done to earn such wrath?
I'm indifferent about him. So that actually makes me more interested in seeing how things go for him in X-Factor and if he'll become a rising star.
Why do people hate Eyeboy? What has Trevor done to earn such wrath?
I don't even know to be honest? Is it because he was created by Jason Aaron and there's just a certain group that loathes him because of that? Or is because he's the latest in a long line of young mutants that eventually overshadow the older generation.
All I know is that no one has it worst than Hope's Five Lights or those alternate reality mutants from Battle of the atom.

LOL.
He sees right through me and leaves me feeling naked and vulnerable.
Why do people hate Eyeboy? What has Trevor done to earn such wrath?
mostly cuz of who created him and lack of development. same's true for basically the entire watxm class lol, Trevor's pretty much the only one introduced in his run who gets more than the odd cameo. can't blame anyone for being iffy on Aaron but honestly I like the generation he introduced solely for the sheer insanity of their character designs lol

What about the list is wrong?
Its not subjective, those are things that people have been clamoring for for years an each of those items are objectively true. You may not like the way something was done, but that doesn't invalidate that they did it, and the fact that they did significantly undermines your initial argument. What we have is that you don't like what they did, its a fair opinion but they were never going to please everyone. As a business it makes sense to reach out as broadly as possible but its not a failure that some people will never be happy with it. Some fans are opposed to everything about Krakoa to their core and would accept nothing less than a complete repudiation of everything related to it. Based off of sales numbers, reviews and online polling (take that last for what its worth) they are doing a pretty good job.

But why does it matter to you? That's what i'm trying to figure out. Is not your frustration and need to repeatedly "call" people out the exact same thing they are doing? Does it really matter. If people want to vent their frustrations is it anybody's job other than the moderators to make sure it falls in line. Just saying.

Doh hot-up yuh head. it really not dat important. And I've moved on.
