Because LGBTQ+ people are just inherently more sexual than straight people! /s
Just went to check if the release date of Empyre #6 had been moved up for some reason, but nope, we're still only getting the last issue on September 2nd. This frustrates so much. Like, why do a weekly release for 5 issues and then take a 3-week break just before the big finale? It just kills the momentum the book was having, IMO. With two Wednesdays left on the month, they could've done the finale AND the Fallout/Aftermath issues to wrap up Empyre this month, and then we could already be getting our post-Empyre content next month. Yes, I'm impatient.

I... I didn't know there was a gap omg. That sucks ass, was there a reason given? Like you said, they could've finished it this month, unless they wanted to stretch it so it bridges better with King in Black? That'd be annoying if so.
At least we get the BillyTeddy issue tomorrow, idk if I could've handled waiting a month for the deets on the wedding and eventual rescue lol.

There was no explanation to why we're waiting longer for issue #6, as far as I know. That's just the way it was scheduled post-pandemic, ever since we got the August/September solicits.
I was thinking If Teddy is emperor is Billy by default king? Or does their need to be a coronation first?

Idk Kree/Skrull customs, but historically the spouse of the monarch does not need to be coronated.
In #4, does anyone know what that FF armor that Tony was working on is?

They don't say. They just show a piece of it. We're supposed to see it in issue #5.

Hmm it's probably gonna be an Anne Boleyn type situation for Billy still considered royalty through Mairrage but hated/unapproved by the people.
I'm still thinking that maybe they're gonna throw some "Well you married Billy on earth as Teddy Altman, you can still marry Quoi as Emperor Dorrek VII for the peace".

The optics of that would be really bad from a PR perspective. They've gotten a lot of buzz from the surprise Teddy/Billy marriage.
Immediately screwing that over would just piss off too many people now, even people who don't care about comics.
And they've already shown the cover for the reception

Understandable. On a somewhat unrelated note, September 2nd happens to be my birthday, so I'll consider it a present from Marvel.

I think its just that the first 5 books were not originally intended to come out weekly like that--it was a consequence of trying to get things caught up again once the pandemic shutdown was over. Now that they are more caught up, things are starting to slow down to a more normal schedule (same with CAPTAIN MARVEL--that book had multiple issues out in a single month due to the the EMPYRE tie-in issues, but after that it slows down to a monthly schedule again.
There are still several more EMPYRE tie-ins to come out, in miniseries, one-shots and tie-in issues of ongoing books--so they need a bit of a gap before the finale now to allow the rest of the tie-ins to finish coming out before the event ends.

I really don't see how a mariage works here. The Cotati want revenge due to past actions, political marriages where used to help settle claims, or help build up a stronger union of allies.
