Honestly every character who was introduced on the cartoon was likable and made the show watchable which is rare. Despite it being a CGI cartoon, Green Lantern was one of the few shows where it was a strength and not a weakness.
Hal definitely was a leading man in the show. He was that fine balance between cocky and confident, charismatic and a efficient leader with reckless abandonment. Not a lot of people can handle Hal that work.
Was pleasantly surprised at how well Timm and co. handled Hal since I’ve soured pretty hard on the non-Batman DCAU versions over time. Keaton is basically how I “hear” Hal’s voice now.

Very well said. It was a delightful portrayal of Hal. I never understood why is it so difficult for many writers to strike that balance with him.

They struck the perfect balance with Hal on the show in my opinion :).

Delusional villains are often the best. Always thinking they have moral superiority no matter how much reality says otherwise.

GLTAS should be a recommended viewing for writers of GL, and those working on movies and TV series.

Oh agreed. I definitely would have recommended this show for anyone in charge of the GLC Movie, comic run or tv show. In a season, it shows a lot of what you can do with GL if given the chance. Especially taking a lot of Geoff John’s ideas among others and really doing something new and interesting with the franchise. It’s just sad irony that the GL movie and toy sales was the thing that dictated the film’s final fate.
I think GL:TAS Hal and GL: Earth One Harold has been my 2 favorite post 2010 modernized/alternate takes on Hal, which shows that the character is anything but stagnant and ripe full of potential and interesting character traits.

It's 1990 all over again. Something told me they'd use the "everything happened" excuse to bring back old gray haired Hal for some odd reason and there we have it. Never understood the point of it before, I think I understand it even less now.
-
I didn't notice it when I read the issue, but why though? If everything happened, then they should have inculded Johns explanation for the gray hair.
You know, I actually don't mind if Hal doesn't have a book. I really don't have much hope for DC future and I really don't believe that they have a long term plan like they claim.

Don't lose hope, this maybe another version of him.
My hope is that with the Omniverse that the Green Lantern Corps sort of become like the Captain Britain Corps in Marvel and have different versions of Hal throughout.
-
But those are "our" Lanterns surrounding him so it should be our Hal as well.

I'm guessing Parallax can still be explained as possessing him but without aging him up. Perhaps this time when he was freed from Parallax he didn't go back to being younger again like in the original story, since now apparently he was already older by the time it got to him in the first place.
Him not having a book doesn't bother me as much as I find this completely unnecessary. While I do find it somewhat suspicious that DC management changes and Hal Jordan suddenly looks wrinkled and finds himself with gray hair again, I'm not going to speculate about the reasons and motivations for it. I'm just disinterested in a Hal Jordan that for whatever reason looks older than not only his fellow founding Leaguers that still look as young as ever, but looks older than Alan Scott as well. I just always found that to be absurd. Perhaps it makes me sound superficial or spoiled by the post-GL Rebirth era, but I just don't care for this portrayal at all.
