Now they are defiantly reprinting vol 2 it may be worth getting the vol 1 reprint and getting the extras (and the matching spines) sure I can probably sell the ones I have
Actually it would be be pretty good if it collected the ‘secret files of’ I think they did a Jenny Sparks and a Hawksmoor issue
I believe that was part of a four or five issue limited series by Millar, wasn't it?
Guys, I know this is a tricky matter and that I "should have known by now", but I'm really late on my reading, and I've actually been waiting for Morrison's run to be 'omnibified' (and it's finally here, woo-hoo!), so I didn't know about that, and considering this is the Collected Editions section of the forum, I guess I'm probably not the only one that would appreciate it if spoiler tags were reasonably used. Thanks.
[spoil]Like this.[/spoil]
Sorry about that. I actually thought about the spoiler tag but but it's been so long and it got a lot of media coverage at the time. In fact, the media leaked it before the event happened. I kind of figured it was like the whole "Captain America is not a Nazi" thing in that everyone knows. Or you'd think so anyway.
My bad. I'll pay more attention in the future.

Wait, Captain America is not a Nazi?!
Just kidding - not exactly the same, as it's only logical to think they'll revert that. But yeah, I don't visit any comic-book sites (except for this section and the Marvel Masterworks board) exactly for that reason. :)
It's OK. Thanks for not getting defensive about that.

The Morrison omnibus will be great to have as the material is top notch, but it is going to be disappointing if they do not add in Arkham and Gothic.
Absolute Authority Vol. 2 is listed at 504 pages. The first printing, according to mycomicshop.com, lists it at 304 pages. I wonder if there's a mistake here or if maybe they'll collect those issues Millar didn't write.
The product description says it will collect issues #13-29, The Authority Annual 2000 and Wildstorm Summer Special #1, unlike the first edition, which only collected the 12 issues Millar wrote (#13-20, #22 and #27-29).

Excellent! I’m glad they’re collecting those orphaned issues. They’re actually not bad.
Yes this will be the first GA Batman omnibus to include previously non-archived material ;) Namely Batman 38-45 have never been reprinted (Detective Comics got all the way up to 170 in the archives!). Also provided we get an GA Batman Omnibus 6 the Batman stories from Worlds Finest will be first time reprints as the archives only went up to issue 32
Thanks for confirming that! Great news!
Since DC has been doing 2 Golden Age volumes for Bats/Supes the last two years I hope we can expect vol.6s of each in the last half of '18.

Eh, they don't really have much to do with his actual Batman run, so no real loss in my opinion

Yes they do not tie into is larger Batman story, but if you are doing a Morrison Batman omnibus it is not complete without all of his Batman work.

Come onnnn final Transmetropolitan Absolute...only one more...don’t fail me now DC

I don't expect it, but they did collect the handful of pre-new 52 issues Tomasi did in the recent Batman and Robin series when Dick Grayson was Batman. I'm good either way. I thought Gothic was OK but I could never get into the Arkham book.
There is also mention of:
Batman '66 omnibus
Seven Soldiers by Grant Morrison
Batman: The Brave & the Bold: The Bronze Age Omnibus Vol.2
Ex Machina: The Complete Series Omnibus
Finally! I've been hanging out for an Infinite Crisis omnibus reprint for ages now. Will likely be picking up all the bolded.
-
Definite:
Batman by Grant Morrison Omnibus Vol. 1
The Flash: The Silver Age Omnibus Vol. 3
Wonder Woman by George Perez Omnibus Vol. 3
Batman '66 omnibus
Batman: The Brave & the Bold: The Bronze Age Omnibus Vol.2
Maybe, depends on contents and release date clashes:
Impulse by Mark Waid & Humberto Ramos Omnibus
Legion of Super-Heroes: The Silver Age Omnibus Vol. 2
New Teen Titans Vol. 3 Omnibus New Edition
That's a much bigger buy pile than the Marvel catalogue

Wow. Waid and Ramos Impulse Omnibus is awesome news. That one was top on my wishlist. I assumed we'd get a trade at best once the Waid Flash trades caught up to that point chronologically. Maybe now we'll also get Absolutes of The Golden Age and Starman. I mean, a guy can dream, right? ;-)
Also happy for everyone to get a second chance at that Infinite Crisis Omnibus. It's an excellent book, one I've long said is the best example of what an event omnibus should be. Even if you already read it all, it gives you a whole new respect for just how much planning went into the whole thing.
