He likely doesn't believe he can re-catch it again. But it can happen as we have heard.
I understand that maybe he does not think he could catch it again. But as a head coach he should follow the league rules and set an example to his players.
Here is an interesting stat . Next week Cam Newton will pass Randall Cunningham for 2nd all-time in career rushing yards as a QB. Newton had he not been injured the last 2+ seasons would likely be right close to #1 on this list. He has 4,928 yards on the ground tied with Cunningham. The #1 rushing QB is Michael Vick with 6,109 yards. If Newton can regain his form completely he could eclipse that mark in 2 seasons.
Newton has been a better passing QB than Vick his entire career though.
Michael Vick : 1807/3217 22,464 yards 133 TDs and 88 Ints
Cam Newton : 2316/4043 29,593 yards 183 TDs and 109 Ints.
Well it never hurts to have a young QB you develop on the roster for trade use later. Or if said starter goes down. Lets be honest here , Hurts has more upside than Nate Sudfield and with Wentz injury history they had to have that guy there.
The Birds could've drafted a QB in the later rounds of the draft instead of wasting a second round pick on Hurts when there was a greater area of need on the offensive line and at linebacker, a blind spot with this organization for years as they refuse to draft any early, and then watch the goobers we have get burned repeatedly by the likes of TE Tyler Higbee of the Rams who caught three TD's this past Sunday.
Weathering an early storm, or cooked like last night's fried chicken? You decide:

Philly and Houston are weathering. AGAIN, the lEast is holding up it's side of clearing out the way for 3 NFC West teams to moonwalk into the playoffs. Philly has got to put it together, Dallas won't run into Quinn anymore so it's going to be struggle for them just to get back to their annual 8-8. The less said about the other two teams the better- that's easy for Washington to say less because they don't even have a name and I'm even rising above any Daniel Jones slander, for now. If Philly continues to struggle on defense now... outside of Wentz still putting it together, shit, IDK, it's there for them though.
Deshaun is the best QB out of the 0-2's by a mile and while I have zero faith in the rest of that team, that's not for nothin' this early at least.
That may be, but he might not get to 6-10. Even with 2 games against the Jags.
Mmmmmmmmm. Minshew is getting pretty good at kicking the Colts square in the nuts and they came within 3 points, scored 30, on the road, against the AFC Championship finalist Tacks. This was the team that didn't know what it was doing a month ago? Houston is praying for a split there.

My Eagles are damn lucky to be in NFC East, shaping up to be one the two weakest divisions in the league (the other being their AFC counterpart) as Dallas needed an Atlanta fourth quarter choke to avoid going 0-2, leaving Washington FC as the class of the division at 1-1. Still, Philly can't afford another setback, especially since it looks like only the division winner will make the postseason, this Sunday, we welcome rookie Joe Burrow and winless Cincinnati to town, a year or two ago, I would've already chalked that up as a win, but right now, this Eagles team looks like they could lose to even the dregs of league, so nothing is certain.
2020 continues to suck. Just got an alert from Bleacher Report that Chicago Bears great and Hall of Famer Gale Sayers passed away at 77.
Remember last year when Washington's team doctors was considered the worst in NFL for how bad they were ? With what we saw play out for players and people mocked the team for having them employed ? Well San Diego has seemingly stepped up to take that mantle this year.
Tyrod Taylor maybe out indefinitely due to team doctor injecting him with a pain killer shot for 2 broken ribs he had suffered a week earlier. The doctor instead punctured his lung and led him to having to be rushed to the hospital as he had breathing issues.

Jesus! That’s horrible! Thank goodness nothing worse happened to Taylor.
This shows just how good Chris Collingsworth is to the announce game. As he spends each week reviewing game tape , watching sections. He then details right before the Eagles vs Patriots Super Bowl clash . "What a story it would be if Nick Foles pulls this off."

Loving the anger from fans as usual. Collingsworth saying it best , "I don't sugercoat shit."

Between the multitude of poorly treated injuries over the past few years to the Chargers' players and now this... they might want to consider firing their team physician.
Unless what he did was an "accident" to justify getting Justin Herbert a start. Then, put him in jail.
Who says Darth Hoodie doesn't have a sense of humor?
