I read a book named John Edwards' Four Trials. It narrates a trial lawyer's perspective which I found a bit interesting. John Edwards sure likes to preach honesty and integrity but fails to practice it. He was a real creature of politics. He went not to a prison but back to personal injury law practice. Good for him.
Personal injury lawyers make sleaze look respectable. They make excellent politicians.

Han Fei Zi. (tzu, tsu, feizi...name can change a bit depending on the version).
Machiavelli sounds deliciously naive next to that guy. Very good read.

I started the Man in the High Castle. In the mood for some dystopian material.

Started my annual reading of Dickens' A Christmas Carol.

I finished Children of Time last week, which I liked a lot. I'm now rereading The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman. I read this a few years ago and all I can remember was that the ending let me down a little bit. I figured I'd give it another read and see how it goes this time.

I also reread it, since it was part of the Christmas anthology I have been reading since the end of Thanksgiving. I never grow tired of it, either. :)

You will be repaid in spades for your effort; these stories are just pure joy to read.

Finally started reading BEARTOWN by Fredrik Backman after several years of it sitting on my shelf. Really enjoying it so far.

If you haven't read it already you may want to follow that up with Fatherland by Robert Harris.
I've started Republic, Lost: How Money Corrupts Congress - and a Plan to Stop It by Lawrence Lessig.
