Once again, many poor white people don't see white privilege because it's invisible. If you can walk through a convenience store without a clerk following you to make sure you don't shoplift, that's white privilege. If you don't have to worry about your kid's teacher expecting him to fail, that's white privilege, too. As I said, it's things we white people take for granted, but Black people never can.

And if there needs to be a way to make such lawsuits easier and more streamlined, then so be it.
white people may not like hispanic people or Asians or "Arabs"
but they are only AFRAID of black people
This is kind of the point I was getting at, not entirely (most white people don't dislike anyone, a significant chunk do, but you'll find a racist segment in every group). Black people have a huge bias against them. And unfortunately, it's not just white people, you dress a black man in a police uniform and all of a sudden they are stopping other black people.
None of the people I know who are old enough to have cared about money during the Carter years consider it a 'mild' recession. They all talk about stagflation and consider it the worst economy that they have lived through between then and today. And these are people who lived in an area that used to depend on a military base and the Canadian shopper and dealt with the base closing and the Canadian dollar dropping into a tailspin at the same time.
I don't mean to diminish personal experience. However, I know that we all need to be careful of the propensity that we have to use anecdotal evidence to provide context to a larger picture. In the United States, GDP growth was still high, the stock market wasn't dropping like it was in 2008/2009, the unemployment wasn't at the level that it was in 2009, the global economic market wasn't in a total tailspin where failings led to even further failings, and inflation was largely the biggest issue then (as a result of Nixon deciding to move off of the gold standard, which led to huge issues with the clear value of the dollar and it what it was worth). It was clearly worse in 2008/2009 in terms of overall catastrophe that was only worsening when Obama took office. At the time Trump took office, he had a much better environment--other than political (which, to be fair, is expected of a country whose history can be told pretty much through the lens of race alone--partisan divides would only increase when a black man took office, especially when there were still people who lived during segregation alive today and predominantly make up the targeted voting blocs).

I remember that Republicans laughed at me when I said that this kind of economic growth that Trump was inheriting was untenable. It would eventually start to stagnate. The only thing that Trump and Republicans in government can actually affect is how badly this occurred. A mild recession is relatively easy to recover from politically and economically. The market was self-sufficient at the time that Trump took office. Obama's economy was not--which is why it required a more hands-on government response and Obama had a relatively successful economic record. Trump will not if things continue the way they are going. It seems like his policies are only going to end up exacerbating issues. He is Sanders-aligned in all the wrong ways (trade) and Cruz-aligned in all the wrong ways (immigration and tax cuts). That combination is one that we last saw in Herbert Hoover. Every president since Hoover has avoided the economic policies of Hoover, at least in one respect or another. Trump seems to be attracted to those. And that should frighten people.

Got an alert saying the wife of Donald Trump Jr. was hospitalized after opening an envelope containing an unknown white powder this morning.

Hey! Don't report those people breaking the rules of twitter like that, it's too much like censorship!
/sarcasm
I hope that every bigot gets chased off ordinary social media sites and have to start their own so it's clear where they stand.
