Hey guys, this is weird and funny for me, im almost 30 years old, i've been an internet geek for most of my life. I got online when i was about 13 strictly for dragon ball z research reasons. I became addicted to DBZ info sites and forums, specifically dragonball unlimited (DBU) which was one of the big time sites back in the day, along with dbgt, dbz saiyan chronicles, planet namek (the first and prototype for all dbz sites to follow!), etc!
Because of DBZ forums i taught myself graphic and web design, because if you didnt have a cool forum signature (or tag) back in the day, you were a nobody! haha, and today i make my living off of my design work, so forums have always had a special place in my heart, but sadly its kind of a dead thing now. Social networking took over, but althought i go on CBR a lot, i just today realized theres an active forum, which obviously piqued my interests. So here I am. hoping to geek out on some comics and other shit!

Hi to all I am also new here. Nice meeting you.

I'm a 44 year old Brit now living in Melbourne, Australia and have been into comics since they were actually printing them on actual paper, if anyone can remember that far back? Digital comics make me grumpy but I kind of suspect that ship has already sailed...!
Currently very into 2000AD, The Walking Dead, Planet of the Apes, Green Arrow, a bit of Deadpool. LOVED the Wonder Woman movie. Cautiously optimistic about the Justice League movie.
Shameless plug - I have a blog (yeah, who doesn't I hear you cry!) allforgeeks.com. I spend WAY too much time looking for new variants..!

Good news, my friend - they still do that! And you can find an amazing selection at All Star Comics Melbourne, 53 Queen St!

I find them a good way to catch up on/check out stuff I can't otherwise afford to buy in print.

Same.

Just registered, though I've been lurking for a while now.
28 year old American, and I've been invested in DC since I first watched the Adam West Batman reruns as a kid. Followed closely by the DCAU. So, yeah, I read DC Comic Books. Not real interested in Marvel, but nothing against those that are.
Honestly, I only got into comics when DC Rebirth launched, though, as said, I followed the animated series and films before that. I would have started earlier, but a lot of the New52 changes when I read up on them, were pretty off putting for me.
Favorite current run of series would be Super Sons, Red Hood and the Outlaws, Justice League of America, and Trinity (though I do like a number of others too). I have read up on some of the older comics, like Identity Crisis, Blackest Night, etc. So I do have some knowledge of things prior to the New52.
As for the live action films, I do actually enjoy most of the DCEU (barring Suicide Squad), 1989's Batman and its sequel, Batman Returns. The Nolan Trilogy was okay, except, and I know this is divisive, I couldn't see Heath Ledger's Joker as, well, Joker. He was more akin to someone like Anarky then the clown prince of crime.

Hi guys,
name's Alex, new member from Germany here but occasional lurker since about 6 months. I collected a lot of Donald Duck / Mickey Mouse comics when I was a kid (I think the stories originated in Italy) and of course the European usual suspects such as Asterix and Tintin.
For a long time I did not collect any American comics because it was not so easy obtaining them. Once I found out about Graphic Novels / Omnibus editions, I was done for :D
I bought Watchmen in 2009 when the movie came out and thought "wow the comics are growing up". Then I did not buy anything until after the talk of the Infinity War movie started - so I got the Infinity Gauntlet Omnibus in 2015. My next Omnibus was Age of Apocalypse at the end of 2016 and then I went a little crazy :)
So here's my shelf, which I managed to get together since the end of 2016 - as you can imagine, I have a gigantic backlog :)
There are some more books on the way, so there will be an update soon.
Have a nice day!

That's quite a collection you're amassing there!
Just so you know, photos hosted on Photobucket no longer show up when you link to them. I'm not sure why they did that when it's pretty much the only thing anyone uses them for, but they didn't ask me.
There's also a Shelf Porn thread on the Collected Editions and Classic Comics sub-forum, which would be the best place to post up your pics. Have at it!

Thanks, good to know. Sometime next week, I expect to receive quite a haul. When I put those books on the shelf, I can post in the shelfporn thread :)

Hi. I'm new to comics. Not really sure what I'm looking for. I used to be into superheroes, but I think I'm going to explore some different stuff like Star Wars.

Oh, dude. There's never been a better time to be a fan of comics that aren't about superheroes!
-
Oh wow, I didn't see this (or even think to look here).
Hi, I'm Skedatz. In my 30's and been a reader of comics since I was just a wee lad. Been quite a few years since I've been on a forum dedicated strictly to comics and even though I kept reading comics during the interim years I noticed more and more how out of touch I felt with the comic community and upcoming events (and the LCS getting fewer and fewer people to talk to), so I decided to come here.
I like all comics and read from pretty much any imprint. Marvel, DC, Image, Valiant, Dark Horse, and... well... Whatever strikes my fancy. Always down for a good comic but I'm a superhero fan at heart and that makes up the bulk of my reading.
