Yes. It's a great, self contained AU story. Grabbing it for half off or whatever IST is gonna have it for would be money well spent. It's not gonna change your life, but it's solid storytelling.
Thanks. Half off is never an option for me due to shippingcosts. Here you'll never find it that cheap.

Is PAD's original X-Factor run any good? I've only read the therapy issue. Is the rest of it typical 90s fare, punctuated by frequent crossovers?

It's better than a lot of other 90's drivel, but not it's not his best work. And yes, you will feel the 90's X-crossover bonanza.

Then the rest of you better buy enough copies for there to be a volume 2 that covers the Investigations years ;)

From what I had the pleasure to read from that run, I'll say that it was heaps better than his first run.

PAD's two X-Factor runs are apples and oranges, but both pretty great. I already have both full runs in singles, and the 90's stuff in Epic Collections, so I'm hesitant to triple-dip on the upcoming omnibus. However I do want the X-Factor Investigations material in collected form... but that means having a Vol. 2 on my shelf without the corresponding Vol. 1!
So torn... :( :p

I liked PAD’s original run… mostly because it was a breath of fresh air compared to what the book had become in years prior (and would revert to after his departure). I’m honestly not sure how it would read in a vacuum.
Aside from the cool jackets the characters wore, those will never go out of style.

What about his 3rd run?

There's a 3rd run...?

Honestly not a major fan of PAD's 1st X-Factor run but I loved the second run. I preordered the 1st omni to do my part in hopefully getting a omni of the 2nd run.

No, his 3rd run was the one with Gambit, Quicksilver, Danger, and Polaris working for a corporation. Lasted about 20 issues I believe. All new X-Factor.
