Ah I see! Feel free to ask me for scans if you ever have trouble finding any. I usually keep me a safe stash on my laptop(and backups on a flash drive).
Yeah, I enjoyed her appearences in BP and wish there had been more. As I told you on comicvine, I fully support the idea that Coates was confirming a divine aspect of her powers through her bloodline. Gold and the others just haven't been on my radar after hearing all of the reviews from you guys.
yes!! I will definitely keep this in mind moving forward but you got to long on for me to ask you for scans (^_^)
and yea that was last time I was excited about anything involving her save the solo announcement and storm is not in any books outside of bp. what is this gold book you speak of? lol

There are so many names in the book I want to call Guggenheim, but out of respect for the forum rules I won't.
know that I am not pleased!

Also, I totally hate the fact that they cancelled Marvel Heroes. But with this Disney deal underway, it won't be long before we see the X-men back in video games and other mediums!

whenever you need to vent about guggs dm. lolol that book has been tragic. I mean seriously, the topic of discussion for the latest issue was kitty costume. lolol it's pretty pathetic. no substance, nothing memorable.. just a waste.
and lmfao at rasputia!!
and yes there is a lot to be happy for. I'm hoping if this deal goes through the xmen will make it back into games. xmen legends would be awesome
That's a very great way to put it. And yeah, you'll quickly learn Storm's powers are just as an important aspect to us as the character herself. It's incredibly complex and leads to tons of interesting discussion.
I believe UXM 180 directly established the return of her bond with the biosphere, but it's suggested to have happened prior to that issue.

But I agree, I'm guessing with more experience Storm has been able to more quickly transition into new atmospheres.
I forgot about issue 180.
Hey, WG, I don't know if you saw this, but look at how little control Jean had over her powers when her powers first manifested. She could not shut out the thoughts of other people instinctively and it was destroying her:

Now, look at the extraoridinary control Storm had over her powers from day 1 (Keep in mind in Jean's case, it was over a period of time and she still could not figure out how to control her TP):

To make this more impressive, she shut that storm down which is more impressive than creating them as shown in Uncanny X-Men #151.
Then, the very next day, she instinctively knows how to shape the winds to fly and has the fine-tune control over her powers to flatten everyone on the battlefield save T'challa with her powers:

Note also the precise aim of her lightning bolt to destroy the gun, but not kill the man holding the weapon.
I forgot to add the third scan in the first group where she dispels the storm.
I'm feeling so disgusted right now on how rape is being justified and/or hand-waived towards Ororo. This is definitely why black feminism is its own separate thing, because the combination of race and sex seems to drive people insane.
The word is misogynoir, the combination of racism and sexism directed at black women.

Yes, I should have remembered this word since it was trending not too long ago on Twitter. Many posters here need an education in this.

tchalla looks scrumptious I'm those scans...
when ororo developed her powers how was it described? and the scan wg posted does demonstrate there are similarities but again it only supports it being similar in that concentration is required
I just saw this post. You know which scans they are, right? I posted them on here a few times. Its the ones where she dispels that storm as a little girl and meets T'challa the next day.
There are 5 scans of this total: The first three shows when she was walking through the desert and was assaulted by the elements when her powers first manifested. She dispersed the storm and then went to sleep. The next two scans details her rescuing T'challa from his would-be kidnappers. All of the scans are posted on this page. I can repost them in a single post in order if you need me to and if you want to add them to your scan compilation.

Yeah, tell me about it. On top of flipping the script by having T'challa rescue Ororo, Dickey had it so Storm could not even control her powers. :::shaking my head:::

yea it was definitely dark times. I would love a story that centered around storm using her powers to save the earth or universe from a cosmic threat, like her own Phoenix story. the difference would be ororo would fully transform to her ultimate form and wouldn't go dark. she would also be able to transition similar to spectrum back and forth from her human and elemental form.

I would love to see Storm have a quintessential personal villain with cosmic powers like that who can pose a threat to the OMNIVERSE and we see Storm temporarily reach her full potential to beat him and then come back down to normal. The thing is if she can assume her elemental form at will, then that means that she would have no upper limits to her power, thus it would be hard to keep a solo going for her. I prefer her in flesh and blood, but fighting villains ranging from characters like Dracula, Candra, and Dr. Doom up to cosmics like evil Heralds, Ego, The Living Planet, and more. She can do all of that in her flesh and blood form.
That said, I believe Ororo could fly through space unaided in her flesh and blood form by feeding on the life force of the universe around her to sustain her in that environment in lieu of life support.

I have never seen these pages before. What comic title and issue is this from? Even still...
"Her mind shifts". That's how it begins. Hmmm.
And afterwards, she is tired and must rest, not automatically replenished. Hmmm.
Almost as if her nerves were exhausted... Hmm.
