Nah, he was real as hell.
He kept it 100 throughout the whole thing

Ho, I'm not contesting it, I thought he had an amusingly loud mouth and was very badass at the same time.
Wow, that was a heavy issue. I'm shocked this arc isn't causing any controversy, with police brutality on the rise IRL, and this anti-police, Transmetropolitan style arc.
I still stand by my prediction of this arc ending with Clark getting a job as a cop and being a Jim Gordon meets Christian Walker (Powers) type character.

The day is young.
That was.....That was....
That was the most amazing thing in the history of amazing things.
I mean, the art, the tension, the emotion, the ending (I was like "Nooooo" and "Yeesss" at the same time)....
And the whole Kentville scene....My god, the whole Kentville scene....That was incredible. A great standoff, with a huge social subtext (there's that one scene-those who read the issue just know which one- where you know exactly what real life event inspired it, and it was awesome). And the whole part where Clark makes his stand with the chains and stand as a shield between the people of Kentville and the cops.....That might be the most inspirational Superman moment I have ever seen. That's how you do it, people.
I may need a moment to step back, but....this might be the best Superman issue since at the very least the start of the New 52.
Do you remember what Superman was BEFORE New52? IMHO, it's one of the best Superman since Byrne. Maybe since Maggin.
I think that big part of Superman subforum think that new52 Superman is generally better than last 15 or so years before Flashpoint.

Ho, I do. I was just being generous because I didn't remember every issue of Post Crisis.
If you're asking for my real opinion....Yeah, since Maggin sounds about right.
This was police brutality. And they say Superman isn't relevant....riiiight.
Oh right, as I mentioned in Twitter, this issue did a much better job at social commentary than this week's Green Arrow. It was subtle, not at the front of the main story and yet it was quite powerful.
Seriously, this is what should have happened in Green Arrow.

I'd like to explore those parallels further. What were the analogues (who did Clark represent, for example), and what do the parallels ultimately say about the real life events that inspired them?

What was the commentary exactly?

I am part of this group. ;)
I'm slow clapping right now. Way to go Pak.

Abuse of power and brutality towards the common man.

What about it? For example, let's compare the situation in Kentville with the situation in Ferguson, Missouri in the aftermath of Michael Brown's shooting. What does this issue have to say about that incident, and how does it use the various characters to tell that story?
