Here's the two page ending to that truly classic issue. Steranko didn't work for Marvel very long but IMO he left a long shadow.
I remember some of the first fan critique stuff that cropped up and reviewed this thought that Steranko was copping out with this ending and just wanted a quick finish. I will have to see if I can find his response to that. But as IIRC Doom was in quite a few things at the same time in the MU
