I'd like to see these characters revive the X-Terminators name with a plot about a team of New X-men finding depowered mutants and trying to convince them to go through the Crucible.

Considering most of these kids have never actually been featured as actual X-men, the adjective New would still be on brand
Plus, at least by the Akademos Habitat standard, that’s just the name of their generation.
Not the worst premise for a book I've seen. I'd say the cast needs some expanding for sure though. Toss in Vic, Megan, and maybe some others. Make sure Beast is firmly in the background and doesn't take too much spotlight and it could be workable.
I like the idea of Julian returning back to SoCal and going into the first InNOut he sees and starts weeping tears of joy how much he missed it.
On Krakoa right now, if they were to start a New X-men team, who would be the best mentor?

Kurt, obviously. Until he runs for President of Krakoa.

No one. They dont need a mentor as these kids have been around for a long time at this point. They need to finally be able to stand on their own as their own team
I have to second no mentor. At this point I feel they're acutely aware that the grownups are just a lost at sea as they are.
That said, I'd like to Surge kind of taking on a vaguely leader-esque role .. nothing official, moreso the product of the grudging respect of her peers (not unanimously ofc) and sometimes the need for someone to defer to for guidance arising
Maybe someone like Sage who doesn't care what they do but will help out if they ask.
I'd say Forge, he can provide them with advice, tech or gear, but he's usually busy so you don't have to wonder why he doesn't come in to save the day himself.

Honestly, kind of an underwhelming premise. Best parts are the Anka designs, worst is the idea of Beast being the team's mentor/advisor.[/QUOTE]
I think the part that killed it was he wanted to explore the effects of PTSD on the kids.
Marvel Editorial does NOT like to be reminded just what the NXM have been through, because it makes the Sacred Cow O5+ look really, REALLY bad for out utterly they failed them. ANY time it's pointed out, they rush to downplay it, so a whole book that focuses on it? Nope, never going to happen.

Agreed, the New X-Men do NOT need a mentor any more. They've been through shit that THEY should be the one mentoring younger kids. Of course, considering the lesson they learned was, "Cyclops and the adults are incompetent buffoons who let 99% of us get depowered, 50 of us get blow'ed up, and the rest of us tortured and tormented mercilessly for years afterwards so don't even bother listening to them," there's no way Marvel will let THAT happen.
Agreed with everyone else. The way Krakoa is set up, the NXM can and should be able to watch over themselves. They’re just as hierarchically important than any other X-generation that’s at the Sextant, at least in-universe. I really love this part of the planned out arcs:
