The Sentry #3 preview
he Sentry is a superhero rooted in the human spirit’s potential for extraordinary good and devastating evil, a Superman-like golden god with a flipside that’s defined by darkness. The character was off the grid for a few years, but he’s back in the Marvel Universe after returning in Donny Cates and Gabriel Hernandez Walta’s Doctor Strange, and now has his own ongoing series that delves deep into the pressure Bob Reynolds feels to keep his fantastic alter egos contained. Writer Jeff Lemire has developed a reputation for crafting chilling psychological thrillers with superhero concepts, and his best Marvel Comics work, Moon Knight, leaned into this strength as it explored the mentally ill antihero’s past, present, and future. He’s back in that mode with The Sentry, splitting the narrative between Bob’s time in reality and an imaginary dreamscape where The Sentry and his sidekicks engage in brightly colored battles against The Void and other Sentry villains.
Love what Lemire is doing with Scout and Cranio here, and Cranio's dialogue is especially funny.
If you're not reading the Sentry, regardless of your feelings about his place in the MU, you're missing a great read.

I'll be getting this issue for the appearance of Iron Man. Although if I like this issue I will get the first 2 issues as well.

Is he in there a lot or is it just a cameo appearance?

He has a few pages of dialogue with Bob.

Hmmm. I’ll check this out.

For some reason, avclub's preview player won't load for me. :(
Is there a way to make or work, or another source for the preview?

Thanks so much for the info.

I'm so excited.
Last issue got me in the mood to reread the original mini, but turns out my hardcover edition was damaged when moving out. Hopefully Marvel reprints it alongside the TPB of this arc

Glad to hear it. It's really going places, I feel, and it's elevating Bob the way he's needed.

Indeed, there is only a paperback version on stands, an offense to good taste. Jae Lee's art was so good it deserves to be published in the best format.
On a side note, I really miss Lee's old style. If he ever draws the Sentry again, it won't be the same as before. Same for Jenkins' writing. A shame they never got to do more with the character when they were at their best.

The Bendis Derailing took precedence, I guess.
