Cool to see John in a new limited series. I'm digging this "military contractor" vibe. So he's basically a merc that works for the government. Interesting.
Let's see where this goes.
Those seemed not anyone's style. Like the creative team was trying too hard to make him 'Not Cap'.
Yeah, and instead they ended up w. shields that were “Not Good”!
Fairly ambivalent about the character, but
1) I enjoy Priest's work a great deal
2) I can't see this lasting long, and I honestly enjoy short runs that tell a solid, single story
So I may very well pick this up!
-Pav, who loves when he finds new appreciation for a character...
I think Priest's writing style and brand of satirical cynicism will be a good fit for a US Agent book.
I'm not in love with the new look though.
I hope this means Priest might be taking over Cap after Coates leaves.
It would be kind of interesting to see Priest get another shot at Cap, although I'm not sure how interested he would be in that.
So that rumor that marvel will not do smaller heroes in limited series has been debunked.
Wonder if this has to do with him showing up in the falcon disney plus series?
They might make exceptions for characters who have MCU tie-in's.
The US on the shield is an interesting choice. I kind of prefer it blank, but we’ll see.
At least they didn’t go w. one of the busier, differently shaped designs he’s used in the past. Those always seemed not his style.
depending on how the shield is thrown, I wonder how will artists depict it. upside down, etc.? could complicate things slightly.
Just how many different shields has he owned? This could be another storyline, "all the missing sheilds".. even if they are sub-vibranium. (right?)
Considering how well Priest wrote Deathstroke, this is gonna be good.

They really should just give him the hard light shield, or any shield other than a round one like Steve's classic one. He's always going to be a Cap clone, but they can at least differentiate him from Steve a little.
Checking this out, Priest made me care about Deathstroke.
I'll stay tuned to the Appreciation thread to come. Even with Priest on the book, I won't buy it unless there's someone in the supporting cast that I like. As others have mentioned, I prefer him in a team setting, but we'll see how it goes. Congrats to the US Agent fans. hope it's a good read.
I still prefer the original costume. Hope this won't be permanent.

e already know it's a 5-issue mini, so...

Let's see.
1) He used the original for a while.
2) The Captain's Vibranium shield
3) The eagle-shaped shield he used while leading The Jury.
4) The Force Works energy shield
5) The solid/energy hybrid shield from his not!Dredd days.
6) The star-shaped shield with the names.
Those are the only ones I recall. What has he been using lately?

He is trained in Steve's style of fighting...shield throwing and all.

And IIRC the current is the alternate reality Cap Shield he got when the Dark Avengers wind to that alternate reality.

Wow, so he has a legit Cap shield (except from an alternate reality). Okay, that's a keeper. He's got what SHOULD be a one of a kind legit indestructible weapon. No need to trade that up.

Only thing better is Steve's uru infused original.
F= YEAAAAAAHH!
This is relevant o my interests.
Hilarious already "MCU ENERGY" I love it.
Priest is so good at breathing life into this type of character. I'm going to buy 2 of every issue. F'real.
I love the U.S. Agents team america vibe, so different from steve. I'm not the biggest fan of that shield either buuuut... Its a minor contrivance. I'm just glad he's not using that energy thing anymore.
