Strong month. Shame Gotham Monsters is only 6 issue mini - was hoping for ongoing but that looks a very strongvrosta of books to me
Guess my guess about Jericho going villain was correct. Wonder how Slade managed to survive...
DC has a real grudge against the younger generation of heroes since Shazam is now on Batman Who Laughs payroll....
No Wonder imprint listings.
Random thoughts:
Green Lantern looks great as usual.
This exploration of the magical realms thing in Shazam just does not want to friggin end, but I'm glad the Monster Society and Hoppy are making an appearance!
Yay for more Cheetah in Wonder Woman!
Beast Boy's back in DP?
I don't find Young Justice in the solicitatios.
Ugh...OF COURSE Rucka is bringing back the Montoya Question. It's a terrible character choice that he's fetishized to the point of being laughable.
And so dies any potential enthusiasm I had for the Lois Lane book.
batgirl #39
the green lantern #11
hawkman #16
justice league #31 & 32
collapser #3
Prolly gonna get Shazam! and Way's Doom Patrol in TPB.
That Aquaman Silver Age Omnibus looks so tempting.
Jonah Hex Bronze Age Omnibus :)
So Jons totally going to the Legion book isn't he.
Lex Luthor: Year of The Villain #1 - looks interesting and is probably gonna be required reading to get the full scope of Snyder's JL run
Gotham City Monsters #1 - I'm a simple man, I like Croc, I like monsters, I pull
Action Comics #1015 - Naomi. nuff said
Aquaman #52 - any story with Manta is worth my time
Batman Beyond #36 - Old Man Flash!?! In a Batman Beyond book?!?
Batman and the Outsiders #5 - Duke Thomas vs Ras al Ghul? I dig it
Deathstroke #47 - Christopher Priest's run has been seminal, I have to see where it ends
The Flash #78-79 - I like all these new forces (can we get more Fuerza? I need more Fuerza) and what Joshua Williamson is doing with the Speedforce
Justice League #31-32 - Duh!
Nightwing #64 - I'm one of the few people who're really enjoying the saga of Ric Grayson
Red Hood:Outlaw #38 - iunno about this tie-in but I'm already commited to this title and Lobdell hasn't let me down yet (well except that one time)
Teen Titans #34 - I'm loving this run, I'm on board for anything
The Terrifics #20 - same as Teen Titans
So flipping glad that the Age Omnibus line is contuintuing! It was looking pretty hairy there for a bit, but two highly requested lines in the same solicit set? That's great!
Looking foreward to a lot of monthly stuff this month too. The usual suspects: Shazam, The Green Lantern, Justice League, Doom Patrol... IMO DC is doing pretty good.
Glad we still have Renee Montonya as the Question (and tptb keeping their promise to Rucka).
Glad we still have Renee Montonya as the Question (and tptb keeping their promise to Rucka).
If Renee is Question again we better not lose Vic to make that happen, I really like having Sage around and Faceless again.
If Renee is Question again we better not lose Vic to make that happen, I really like having Sage around and Faceless again.
The solicit promises a meeting of the two, so between that and Bendis' usage of Vic, I don't think he's going anywhere.
The solicit promises a meeting of the two, so between that and Bendis' usage of Vic, I don't think he's going anywhere.
Maybe its just that Rucka has a History of making Renee the Question at Vic’s expense but I’m not overly optimistic- we dont know if Bendis needs him after Leviathan
No Wonder imprint listings.
Sure there are. Maybe not listed as such but Wonder Twins and Dial H are both solicited with news they've been extended from 6 issues to 12.
We already knew Naomi was done for now in her solo series. The only Wonder imprint book that isn't solicited is YJ.

Bendis already explained YJ is still shipping that month, Just an Error in the Solicits that it was skipped
Getting:
LOSH: Millennium
Justice League
Deathstroke
Finally some books I am excited about!
Definitely:
Shazam 10
Justice League 31- JSA BABY!!!!!!
Probably:
JL- 32 if the JSA are hopefully still involved
Flash Forward- Wally mini series and I will check out the first couple issues.......whether I stay on is another story....
And sad news, the ending of DC's two great all-age titles: SCOOBY-DOO TEAM-UP at issue #50, and TEEN TITANS GO! at issue #36.
Star Sapphire looks great! The Green Lantern has been a consistent highlight every month!
Now I"ll have to get "Lois Lane" for my The Question (Vic) fix. I wonder if anyone will pick up on Vic and Lois's interesting history from his mini.
Long Live WILDFIRE! Long Live the LEGION!! :D
GL, Question and Wildfire are my three favs, so this is a good month!
Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium #1
Superman #15
Justice League #31
And sad news, the ending of DC's two great all-age titles: SCOOBY-DOO TEAM-UP at issue #50, and TEEN TITANS GO! at issue #36.
I wonder if Looney Tunes will be axed in October then. So they can be relaunched as a merged Cartoon Network 100 Page Giant title.
If Vic is back, doesn’t Rucka have to fix Renée? Maybe that’s the story he’s going to tell.
What’s everyone’s gut saying about Bendis on Superman? More likely to do (25 issues) or (50 or more)?

Seems like he is in for the long run.
As long as he moves on from the tedious Rogol Zaar plot, I'm ok. His Action Comics is MUCH better, thought.
Damn i too tought the Gotham City Monster was an ongoing. Oh well, let's hope the mini is good.
For the rest i'll take the usual:
Detective comics
Leviathan
JLD
I wonder if Looney Tunes will be axed in October then. So they can be relaunched as a merged Cartoon Network 100 Page Giant title.
I kind of like the fact Looney Tunes has kept chugging along year after year since 1994, unaffected by reboots and changes in company direction. #251 should be solicited next month.
Scooby-Doo, Where are You? is still going. It's bi-monthly, and #100 was solicited last month. We'll have to see about that one, too.
Totally, getting Teen Titans I am loving that book
DCEASED: A GOOD DAY TO DIE #1 really liking DCeased.
DETECTIVE COMICS looks interesting and I enjoy this series.
JUSTICE LEAGUE #31 for the JSA although that book is great on its own.
HARLEEN #1- Harley Quinn Black Label book enough said
FLASH FORWARD #1- I know some people are not going to buy this book but, I always give a book at least an issue before I make a judgment.
BATMAN/SUPERMAN #2- I know I am probably going to get the book
WONDER WOMAN VOL. 1: THE JUST WAR HC- I been waiting to start on Wilson run so I get the trade.
I am picking up way more books than I thought I was.
Definitely:

American Carnage TP
Batwoman: Haunted Tides TP
Goddess Mode TP
Hex Wives TP - Probably my favorite concept of the new Vertigo books. Interested to see how it turned out.
Naomi Season One HC
Teen Titans Volume 2: Turn It Up TP
The Riddler: Year of the Villain #1
The Wild Storm Volume 4 TP
Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium #1 (of 2) - Never read Legion before but interested in seeing all the alternate futures in one book. Maybe it'll sell me on them.
Maybe:

Lex Luthor: Year of the Villain #1
Hawkman #16
Justice League Dark Volume 2: Lords of Order TP
Wonder Woman Volume 1: The Just War HC
Aquaman Silver Age Omnibus
John Byrne Doom Patrol Omnibus
Jonah Hex Bronze Age Omnibus
G Willow Wilson Wonder Woman hc
I’m looking forward to the Inferior Five. Gerard Way is finally getting back to writing Doom Patrol? I thought it was cancelled because of all of the delays. Flash Forward looks interesting. With all the DC I’m adding to my Marvel my wallet is going to be hurting. Of course the Legion is finally back even if Bendis is writing it I will be checking that out as well.
Thoughts:
- "Council of Lex's." Man, Hickman should've put a copyright on the idea of characters visiting a council of themselves across dimensions...
- I love the idea that Riddler didn't get any Year of the Villain offers because "resources are limited." That's got to sting.
- I'm sure there are probably fans open to the Harley and Ivy book, but with the way they've been handled in the comics (a little too holier then thou, popularity power overriding plot, HiC, downplaying their villainous traits), I'm just not particularly enthused about it.
- Nice to see the Legion finally back and a cool reminder of all the different futures of the DCU :).
- Tom Taylor always seems to find room for the characters he likes, although I think this will be the most he's done with Mr. Terrific and Big Barda.
- I want to hope for the best with the new Wally book, but there's just so much to worry about...the creative team, DC Editorial, the HiC fallout, whether Wally will still be Wally or even The Flash :(.
- Somehow a DC monsters book by Steve Orlando is not the most surprising thing ever. Also nice to see the return of some DC monster characters who haven't been as prominent lately.
- Random comic referencing Invasion! is random.
- I'm guessing Mera's "life-altering decision" concerns her betrothal. Also curious what's behind Manta's father being revived (is that Luthor's gift and not the giant robot?).
- Well, of course Slade didn't stay dead, although whether Joey counts as the "good son" anymore with how Priest has developed him is probably up to interpretation...
- Cool that Dial H is sticking around for longer. Not often I see a mini get extended unless it's doing well.
- That protruding chest area...I can almost kind of see the thought behind Leviathan possibly being a woman.
- So Captain Cold is upgrading The Rogues while Barry is contemplating letting the Speed Force die...yeah, I'm not expecting that to go well.
- Carol! Not crazy about the costume or haircut, but it's nice to see Morrison finally use her in some form.
- "Shadowlands," isn't that the same place Shade foisted The Flashes in the second arc of Williamson's run?
- Here comes the JSA :D.
- The idea of an Injustice League Dark is pretty cool, as is the membership, but why does Circe now look like the Queen of Fables?
- Darkseid has "heralds" now? And it looks like it's the JLO team (minus Jessica) who are filling out the roles.
- I'm going to miss Scooby-Doo Team-Up, but it's nice that they're bringing it full-circle with one last Batman team-up. Maybe they're ending it so they can revive it as a tie-in to the upcoming team-up Scooby-Doo cartoon.
- I'm still kind of surprised (I guess in a good way) that Damian's Titans are still together at this point.
I'm glad they didn't call Injustice League Dark 'Justice League Dark Dark'.
I think that the 3 people on the cover of Justice League Odyssey are new because that's definitely not Starfire and Azareal in the background and Cyborg never had Bane like tubs.

Justice League Darker

I think there's at least an opportunity for fun to be had in the two Questions trying to reconcile Charlie being New 52ed then Rebirthed back into existence. Maybe they can even answer what the hell the Trinity of Sin Question was supposed to be.
Top tens?
1. Somebody might try to do something interesting with Riddler.
2. Harley & Ivy official should be pretty cool.
3. Stjepan Sejic cutting loose.
4. More Steve Orlando riffing Morrison is an insta-buy.
5. That Peacemaker backup.
6. Deathstroke.
7. Carol's new uniform.
8. Justice Doom.
9. Injustice League Dark sounds like hella fun. Counter-corps concept. Floronic v. Swampy, Circe v. Diana, Midnite v. Hellblazer, etc ... who the heck does Grundy counter?
10. All in on Lois Lane.
Morbid curiosity: Flash Forward.
Dead horse: More dark multiverse grimdark.
Justice League Darker
Heh...
Sounds like a beer.
The usual sadness...
However there is one good news, Wonder Twins has been extended to 12 issues.
So, my pull list is still of 3 books:
Batman
Wonder Twins
Young justice
