I’m glad she’s back in her classic costume. The new one was pretty boring.

they better show Roger; even if it's just him and Gerry waving bye.
Because 9 times out of 10 an artist draws it more like body paint than spandex and outline very... personal parts of Jessica. Secondly, spandex sucks breasts in rather than making the boobsock look the original outfit bis often drawn as having.
I mean, this has been a problem for female Superhero costumes for years.
Even Carol's current costume, which was deliberately supposed to be less prone to this then her Ms. Marvel look has had periods where it looked painted on or looked absurdly skintight.
I'll never get where people get this from. There's really nothing about her costume that's nude. It's a form fitting costume that covers her from head to toe with the only skin showing being the opening at her mouth.
Right?!!? No one ever sees this “problem” on Spider-man.

Honestly, the only time I’ve ever seen it “sexualized” was with A Maleev’s concept art which never even made it to print in the NC17 motion comic.

It’s really not 9 out of ten. And that’s the fault of the artist, not the costume.
An update of the original, adding more texture to the fabric would be cool (similar to Wonder Woman's) and could eliminate any boob sock issue.

At that point, that seems more like a problem with the artists than the costume itself and just outright replacing it is just throwing the baby out with the bath water. I’m actually glad to see that this writer liked the classic costume enough to bring it back.
And who knows, maybe both costumes can coexist; the classic for more larger superheroics and the new one for more street level action.

I honestly thought they were setting that up originally, that Jess used her old look for Avengers stuff but the other one for her PI work.
I just saw that. I love the original costume for the nostalgia, but it’s basically her nude with some webpits.
The same can be said for Spider-Man, and I don't see many complaints about that.

Spider-Man, Superman, Batman, Nightwing, Green Lantern (where the costume is literally just a ring projection). Really not much left to the imagination with how tightly their costumes cling to them.

How often is Spider-Man overly sexualized in his costume?
Also, the other arguments regarding Superman, and the rest hold no water. They’re not shown in positions to sexualize them, or being in positions where they appear sexually dominated.

It’s easy to find it over sexualized online, if you only look.

These images are sexual?!?! I don’t get it. By this example, every single McFarlane Spider-Man image would be also.

Maybe not sexual, but definitely drawn to for the male gaze and that's why I didn't read Jessica's stories right away. My first impression of her was a character who was tits and ass and clearly drawn for men to enjoy. That's why it took Kelly Sue writing her and a different artist drawing Jess for me to like her. She's my favorite character now.
Not only is it an artist issue, it's a costume issue. The costume is fantastic - it's unique and stands out. but when it's this easy to draw Jessica like this - that's a problem. Some other examples of how Jess' suit looks like body paint a lot of time:
Pretty sure they don't show the butt crack that way
Pretty sure body suits don't outline a belly button that way.
I rest my case.
I have complete faith that Tini Howard will write Jessica incredibly well, but I still have reservations about the old suit.
Also, there's nothing wrong with a character being sexy - but a character can still be sexy without having a suit that looks like body paint. Also, to me, Jess is a character who might be sexy and gorgeous, but she certainly doesn't embrace it like say Emma Frost or Tigra. And I feel like newer suit fits that aspect of her personality more than the old one does. But that's my opinion.

Yes, they’re sexual. She’s inviting sexual advances in all three images. She’s evoking sex in all of them. How many images of Spider-Man can you find where he’s standing like that, accentuating his curves. Drawing eyes to his breasts, and curvy hips? There’s nothing wrong with sexual characters, and having sexual characteristics m. Black Cat is overtly sexy, and she’s one of my all time favorites. But Jessica, and her persona, does not fit the mold.
