No kidding. I have three words about that matchup----Dog. With. Fleas.
There's also what my local sports talk station is referring to as the "Pink Slip Bowl" on Thursday night between the Cardinals and Broncos.
Reason being is, the rumors are if Denver loses, Vance Joseph is getting canned. If Arizona loses, they're going into their bye week, and the rumor is that Offensive Coordinator Mike McCoy will get fired. Arizona, in spite of having a promising Josh Rosen, former threat for 2,000 yards from scrimmage David Johnson, talented Rookie WR Christian Kirk, and HOF guarantee WR Larry Fitzgerald lining up... is currently last in the NFL in almost every significant offensive category, went 0 for 10 on 3rd downs last week, and have the worst YPG totals for any team in the league since the '09 Raiders were starting Andrew Walter. Also of note, it was 11 months ago that the Broncos fired Mike McCoy mid-season.
Haha Pink Slip Bowl.
The Broncos seem very likely to take this one handily. But I keep underestimating their ability to find ways to lose. But it wouldn't surprise me if both Joseph and McCoy were gone no matter what the outcome. If the Bowlin family weren't in such a mess right now, and he weren't such a Captain Teflon in the Denver area, I'd think Elway's job would be on the line as well.
Joseph SHOULD be gone no matter the outcome. So should the D coordinator Woods. Hell even Musgrave has been maddening for not utilizing the team's one strength enough and that's running the football. But yeah, I don't care that this game is a route for Denver. Its a route just because Arizona is a bad team also.
And... The Pink Slip Bowl lives up to his name, after a 5 turnover performance and a 45-10 blowout, Arizona has fired Offensive Coordinator Mike McCoy. This is the second straight year a team has fired him mid-way through the season. The Cardinals just promoted QB coach Byron Leftwich to be the interim O.C.

Byron. Leftwich. is still in the league. That's gold Jerry.
I used to call him a full grown Gary Coleman, RIP. Good he's still workin.
Beyond the firing of Mike McCoy as offensive coordinator ; in other NFL News the Cleveland Browns continued to do some surprising changes. They traded Carlos Hyde (RB) who was leading the team in rushing to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a 5th round draft pick. The Browns wanted to give rookie RB Nick Chubb a bigger role as he is 2nd on team in rushing and averaging 10+ yards a carry in relief.

I mean... Chubb is their future at the position, but I'm surprised they could only get a 5th rounder back for a RB that would be a starter on most teams.

Byron Leftwich? Really? I had no idea he was still in the league, never mind his being a coach. I'm flabbergasted!
Gronk is out Sunday.
Berry and Houston still out.
McLeod is out.
Great game in London Henry finally ran for his 1st td and the Chargers lead the Titans 17-13.
Titans offense no longer anemic after that shutout defeat.

I heard Bills are starting effective qb Derek Anderson which is not astounding because Peterman is a bum and a infamous bust that can't get the football moved enough for the Bills to win so it makes no damn sense at all to use him unless no choice.
With 9 days til the trade deadline ; various teams have started to make rumors at moves .
- The Dolphins have said they are willing to trade former 1st round pick DeVante Parker (WR) for a 3rd round draft pick. Parker was a productive WR when healthy but injuries have put him behind in 2018. He's only had 2 catches for 40 yards thus far. The draft pick seems low but the Dolphins will have trouble moving Parker due to his injury history and the fact his option was picked up for 2019 and that is a guaranteed $9+ million.
- The Dallas Cowboys realize they need WR help and have contacted the Raiders about Amari Cooper. Its said Gruden has said every player is open to be traded it appears and the Raiders have placed a 1st round pick for him. The Cowboys WR unit has been pretty bad this season .
The announcer brought up that Carolina has the 4th ranked rushing offense but that is kinda...misleading in a way with 2 factors. Ok...
- One is that Cam Newton has to do most of the work. He's gotta run the ball and is 2nd on team in rushing and attempts....and he's the QB. No one else is above 100 yards.
- Christian McCaffrey is leading the team in rushing , but his biggest game was a 184 yard effort in a game weeks ago. He's never had over 60 yards in a game this year. If you subtract 120+ yards from that ...well he's barely leading the team in rushing next to Newton.
So its a team driven still by Newton basically. On the ground and air.
