I loved that character until they messed her up in Manhunter (a book I otherwise loved)...but I have zero interest in Nu52...Flashpoint was just a good time to drop all DC titles for me.
That's how I felt about One Year Later, a perfect dropping off point.
Those Manhunter issues were great but it did feel like Chase was just added to the cast. Didn't feel like the same character. Probably because she wasn't meant to be a supporting character.
Strange's 2010 wasn't a bad series either. I also liked when he was a member of the New Avengers. Shame he was taken out during World War Hulk. Those pages felt like they were included just to give him his new direction but ooof, to have it happen in another crossover that didn't even feature him. That's what happens when you don't have your own series but are a top tier guy.

Congrats on the the little ones! I have an eleven month old son (in three days) and boy is that a life changer! We're talking about going for a second but I don't like the idea of leveling the playing field.

There was a time X-Cres was essentially 4Chan/hm.
Cheers, I've ordered that Essential one.
I know you hate cartoons but i quite enjoyed the animated movie.
The agent, the user, and the mark accuser all on one page.
cute.
The Strange DVD wasn't that bad. I still haven't had a chance to watch that 70s Doctor Strange film.
His comics are awful as well.
I liked Frankencastle, but it's been sharply downhill ever since

Frankencastle would have been a good "What If?"...it makes no sense in 616.

Well the Punisher makes no sense full stop. A serial killer that none of the heroes have stopped, a mass murderer dedicated to executing criminals who has never executed any noteworthy criminal. The character is a joke.
Frankencastle was pretty forgettable but not without some interest from myself as a story. Which is a pretty significant step up from his other comics actually.
Let's play a game:
Who would you.. (Verb)?
Followed by answer
Example:
Who would I... Train with?
Cyclops
I mean, look at the guy. Wolverine would also be an acceptable answer for me.
Remember when Cyclops fought Legion in the rain, both shirtless? Those were some good comics!
Simon Spurrier, the anti-Remender

Only picked up Legacy because of the UXM appearances but the book was too good and I ended up getting most of it.

Punisher is one of a handful of Marvel characters that are a great concept that just don't fit well into the larger marvel universe...but Frankencastle just doesn't fit anywhere.
There are so many topics going on at once in classic X-Crescence fashion.
My favorite DC characters are Roy Harper, Wally West, and Jason Todd; the fact they're all Asian-dating gingers is purely coincidental.
Remender's writing is pretty polarizing; you either hate it or love it, rarely finding a middle ground. I feel that his Uncanny X-Force raised the bar so highly, that anything he wrote afterward failed to reach that quality.
And I like the Punisher. Him drinking out of his mug with the "I'm Not Daredevil" shirt is actually my wallpaper.
