part of me really wants to see the character in live-action; Who Framed Roger Rabbit-style.
Isn't this just Marvel's version of Harley Quinn, with that stupid hammer/mallet?:(

Is Harley a sentient cartoon character?
Whatever this character is, I've never heard of before....just looks like a version oh Harley Quinn to me....not my cup of tea I'm afraid...

that's ok. but I really can't think of anything he has in common with Harley Quinn. even his mallet is something mystical-cosmic-whatever. he's basically a high school aged class clown who got turned into a living cartoon character; with all the benefits (practically indestructible and can pull weapons from nowhere) and downsides (he's no longer anatomically correct) of that. he played an important role in the Avengers Initiative book where he nearly beat the camp's drill sergeant to death. apparently, having no junk drove him a bit crazy. he's currently part of Deadpool's mercenary outfit.

Yeah, Marvel's version of Harley Quinn is not even close to accurate. He's more like Marvel's Plastic Man if we're going with a DC parallel, and that's only due to the cartoony nature of the characters given that Slapstick is far less malleable and is a slightly disturbed anti-hero while Plastic Man is usually a hero through and through.

Seriously, don't.
I agree that Slapstick is a great character and I am also glad the character is getting a new comic.
I don't know the character yet, but I'm looking foward to his comic. Looks fun.

Harley's mass-murdery cheesecake who falls in love with worse killers.
Slapstick is a tin-eared, teenaged jerk with the power of a living cartoon, no genitals, and crazier hair.
Other than white skin (and a mallet) what do they have in common? Bad sense of humor?
Bought the first issue of Slapstick's new series.
What does everyone think?

The sound of chirping crickets is such a cliche . . .
