I love the modern-day Western vibe to it. And it looks like, much like the last film, that it's going back more to Rambo being a wearing tortured character that he was in the original film.
Also there will be blood it seems, LOTS of blood.
Yeah they had the trailer at the beginning of Godzilla: King of Monsters. Looks great, I'll be there.
Looks pretty good actually.
No hair. No headband. He might as well be Barney from the Expendable here. Either a prequel or distant sequel...who could tell the difference?
Stallone didn't want to do the "same old same old" with this film, and I can understand that.

lol, the irony of that idea

A prequel would probably have John in Vietnam with his group and Trautman....or something between III and IV where Rambo was semi-retired in Thailand for twenty years.
Rambo does seem to at least have his trademark knife.
Funny thing is, with the cowboy hat he does bear a slight resemblance to Teasle's look.

I meant an Expendables prequel or sequell
so will there be comics spin-offs? How about action figures? An adult animated Rambo movie is in order as well.
I don't think there's been a lot of Rambo comics outside of Blackthorne comics.
NECA makes action figures for Rambo, although I think they've mostly just focused on the first three movies, as well as a version based on the NES game coloring.
There's been rumors about a Rambo TV show for years (Probably not featuring Stallone) but I don't think it's moved any further.
Well since nostalgia is back in style, why not put "Rambo and the Force of Freedom" on DVD/Blu-Ray, all 65 eps. And re-release the toys?

I almost forgot how much the 80's missed the point of First Blood entirely. The last movie kind of started to get back to it, while still keeping the ridiculously high body counts like the sequels. We'll see if this movie does the same.
I like how Rambo is relying on traps to take these guys on.
That's what he did in the first film as well.
