It's varied over the years, and especially in other media. What's you favorite version? Favorite leader, favorite motivation? More magic or more techy?
Of course I like the arc stretching from mid 89 to late 91 most. I really like Edge and Bruno, and the push and pull as they represent two sides of organized crime leading. I like how the huge cast of major and minor characters weave throughout the story to make a big world have its pieces together without becoming small.

I like the super tech version. They're humans who barely know what the tech does.
