Cyclops was a confident leader in X1.
He was brainwashed in X2 and played a huge role at the end.
He was in pain in X3, not a "whiny bitch" at all.
Heck, his cameo in Origins was just perfect Cyclops, or at least "perfect Cyclops" despite he was just 18 years old and not an X-Man.
In "Apocalypse", he was a rebel, and kinda cool in a sort of a way.
We will get the leader again in DP.
That's it.
The problem was Cyclops was completely overshadowed by Wolverine who stole all the scenes and between him Patrick Stewart and Ian Mc Kellen, there had no place for the others.
And it's not Marsden's fault, he's a good actor (you know it if you've seen him in Westworld or The box), but first he spent half X-2 brainwashed and out of sight and second we all know the real reason behind his premature death in X3.

That's just straight up incorrect. What big role?

What?!

In what world the guy who says "Mall is the matter of national pride" look like a cool rebel? He had no skills of any kind. What the heck was he even rebelling against? He couldn't even stare at something without falling over air.

Uh, main characters can't steal scenes.

This^^^ hes the leader of the Xmen but he was barely even a secondary character.

Well, in "Origins" he became a little hero despite being defendless and vulnerable. And he used his powers twice, as well as giving his power to "The Dead Pool".
And he was the one in "Apocalypse" that led the group to the mall, rebelling against the rules. Also, his line was ironic.
He had no skills, he was a 18 years old guy, but the will of Cyclops was in there and it worked fine.
TERRIFIC movie.

Will of Cyclops?! What are you even talking about?!

You know what's really depression as a Cyclops fan my fellow Cyke fan? Reading the XCU defenders of his treatment and realizing he was taken prisoner by Magneto in X-Men, taken prisoner by Weapon-X in X2, killed in Last Stand, taken prisoner again by Weapon-X in Origins, Cameo in DOFP to just C Block Logan, and going for the trifecta taken prisoner by Weapon-X yet again in Apocalypse. Fox basically turned him into Princess Peach.

Yeah but Princess Peach had her own solo game in the midst of her kidnapping to be the hero.

Scott wasn’t a prisoner in Apocalypse.

Scott, Jean and Kurt are accidental prisoners in Stryker's helicopter for a brief period of time.

Woof. It's ok to have your position on this issue, but some of this stuff would be generous to call "incoherent".

Well, there are three timelines and some past alterations. Things are gonna be "incoherent".
Said that, Cyclops was fine in many X-Men films and he will be a definitive badass in "Dark Phoenix", the last hurrah of the series (without Wolverine).

Semantics. Just a sequence of few seconds.

If he is.....great. The fact that you are assuming he will be should tell someone about how objectively you form your opinion. And therefore how seriously you should be taken.

LMAO.
NO, not a subjective "opinion" at all; a guy watched the movie in advance and spoiled it sequence by sequence on the Superhero Hype forum. He has been extremely detailed about every sequence in the movie and all members of the forum know he is a reliable "inside" guy.
Cyclops in DP will be 100% badass.
Said that, well, only a TV SERIES can give proper character arc and depth to a TEAM --- see DOOM PATROL. That is true even for the Avengers.
