After watching the Netflix show I think I want to dwell in some DD and Punisher. I'm a DC guy and I like the darker ****, any recommendations on what run to start at for both series?

Don't read Punisher.
Miller's and Bendis' runs of DD are both pretty good places.
Miller, Nocenti, Bendis, Brubaker.
Those are my favorites, all are collected too.
I'm familiar with Brubakers Cap and Bendis' Avenger runs, do those runs coincide?
For Punisher, Greg Rucka & Garth Ennis Runs
Punisher = Ennis (the MAX run is my favorite)
Daredevil: I really enjoyed everything Miller wrote on DD and would recommend it all. I had never read any other DD until recently when I began reading Bendis' run. I'm hot and cold on Bendis--I tend to like his creator owned stuff and not like his other stuff. I'm just over halfway through Bendis' DD run right now and I think it's one of the best comic runs (so far) I've ever read. I love it. I'm a big Brubaker fan, so I'm looking forward to his follow up.
If you have a big wallet, you can pick up Daredevil By Frank Miller omnibus. Read Guardian Devil by Kevin Smith, which is very important, then of course Bendis' run, which is GREAT! And Brubaker's run is cool too!

Agreed on both. Don't read Punisher, read Bendis' Daredevil starting with the TPB "Underboss." It's AMAZING!!! One TPB will make you a fan, I promise. :)
Ennis' Punisher is god-tier.

The hell is with you people.
Read Punisher MAX by Ennis, it's fantastic.

Yes, it was very good, one of Marvel's best recent runs...probably in top 10 in last 10 years, better than Brubaker run on Captain America, for me. Can't understand why anybody is giving blanket advice not to read Punisher at all.
Just below that...so very good indeed is Garth Ennis 616 run (as long as you like broad slapstick comedy) and recent Greg Rucka/ Checchetto on Punisher. That latter run is one where the writing and artwork worked wonderfully well together...I thought, for example, that the Punisher's fight against the Vulture was visually stunning.

Yeah, I'm really surprised at the anti-recommendations on Ennis' Punisher.
Definitely on the Ennis Punisher Max train, especially if you like darker ****
I was thinking of creating a thread like this too last night. I wanted to read some DD but only from Bendis, and I don't know where to start though. Should I start with his run from #16-19, #27-50, #56-58, or #61-81? Or read all four I listed?
And although I don't care for the Punisher, I wanted to check out Immortal Iron Fist by Fraction. Is that any good?
Punisher - Ennis (Max), The Dixon stuff, Rucka and the Grant circle of blood mini
Daredevil - Miller, Nocenti, Bendis, Brubaker.
