According to post AvX fluff, they stopped being intimate on Utopia because even after Emma donated basically all of her money towards funding it, Scott still couldn't help but think of Jean occasionally.
Yeah, I don't remember this, but if that was really the case, it's best just ignored as yet another example of the misogynistic writing Emma suffered in the last 10 years.

I think it was supposed to be more about how close Scott and Jean were that even after so long he couldn't help but feel guilty for what happened. It does read as being crappy to Emma though.

If Emma begins a relationship with a married man, and while in that relationship his wife dies, if she doesn't expect him to ever think about her, then she looks like a bitch, whether it was the writer's intention or not, specially because they had a son and are surrounded by people that knew and loved her.
Like I said, more of the misogynistic writing she suffered over the years, and one of the contrived excuses for the relationship to end simply because the writers and editors didn't grow up reading about it.

It was more that he thought about Jean during sex that pissed Emma off. Obviously she wasn't going to stop him from thinking of her normally, but during intimacy was where she drew the line.

Considering how the relationship started, I think she of all people would be understanding if his mind wandered off from time to time.

Honestly, it was an unnecessary retcon that didn't come off as romantic as it was probably intended. It was a very poor choice, and one that's hopefully ignored. Unfortunately, Rosenberg is the one writing and he's probably going to keep what he made up.

It wasn't. It sounds dumb.

It feels like its been awhile since I've see you. Maybe it's just me.

Dont post as much. Been dipping into manga and such.

That explains it. Hopefully that's been going well.
Fond memories of Jean are fine and expected, but thinking about her continually when he's physically intimate with Emma crosses a line for me. That in my opinion, makes him look bad. I don't think it was necessary.
Yeah, I agree. I always thought it was fine for Scott to think of Jean with fondness, but while being intimate with Emma? Who thought that was a good idea?
-
To be honest i thought it was cute and a little thing Jean deserved after all the drama.
But that is just me.

The same ones who thought Scott leaving his wife was a good idea.

By same ones I imagine Quesada (who spearheaded making Spider-Man single) and Morrison (who shat on everything Nicezia, Simonson, and Lobdell worked to with the characters, just because he wanted Emma and Scott, past continuity be damned) others at the time........hopefully we’ll one day have creatives who won’t have Cyclops go against 50+ Years of character development (not counting Uncanny......but we only have a month of that left)

Jean deserved better than being remembered during sex. It's just creepy of Scott.
