Someday, when all the things hidden finally comes out, we will know he was a criminal tax cheat, a money launderer for the Russian mob, a failed student, probably never a real billionaire, a drug addict and a rapist.
And the thing is all lot of this was out in the open....yet still people voted for him because you know, Hillary and those e-mails! I know she is not the most likeable candidate but *smh*

She was actually very likable. People liked her when she was Senator and SoS. I think that her campaigned tried too hard to make her look tough and ready to be Pres. And I think the media avoided any stories that humanized her. There was video of her one on one with people that showed her to be funny and personable. Butheremails!

I might have titled this thread, "Trump's Mind Numbing Stupidity" only, it's unclear how much of it is stupidity and how much of it is psychosis, delusion, and/or willful ignorance.

Don’t forget arrogance. He’s certainly cornered the market on that.

Trump reminds me of the song "The Snake" by Al Wilson. In the song, a woman finds a snake half frozen to death, so she takes him into her house to warm him up, but in the end the snake bites her and she dies from his poison.
"I saved you," cried the woman
"And you've bitten me, but why?
You know your bite is poisonous and now I'm going to die"
"Oh shut up, silly woman," said the reptile with a grin
"You knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in."
Everyone knew what Donald Trump was and still they voted for him. He does terrible things for the country and yet the Republican party lets him off the hook. Now his failings have endangered everyone. Yet I can't really blame Trump for being what he is. It's the others that I blame, those that allowed him to destroy their country.

Trump knows what he is and it's on him to improve himself.

Those "others", namely the Republican Party only care about power, tax cuts and stacking the courts. Keeping Trump in office is the means to those ends while they turn a collective blind eye to all the destruction he's caused.

At 73, Trump is too old to change, nor does he want to. He loves being an unrepentant asshole too much to improve.

It's been like that since the 80's, he's had plenty of opportunities to change and only become worse. Which is an achievement given that he was a punchline for Hollywood for being a terrible person in that time period.
-
Why would Trump change? There's never been any consequences for his actions. People just help him out of any problem and he seems to be rewarded for his all bad acts. From his perspective, he must be doing everything right because he keeps failing upward.
-
The other reason he is so bad at being President is he really doesn't understand the workings of Government. His followers love when he demands "something must be done", but he doesn't know how government does things, so it doesn't get done. That is why this FUBAR with masks and ventilators. You listen to Andrew Cuomo and he explains how things would work. Trump just pulls things out of his ass and then complains it's a Governor or GM or Pelosi who is to blame. He has also surrounded himself with advisors and Cabinet members who also don't know how government works.
But it was the same as a businessman. He did not really understand business or finance, and that's why he kept going bankrupt. He eventually had to just be a money launderer, where losing money is an asset.

That wouldn't stop him, were he to make genuine effort.

Fixed that for you in boldface. Meanwhile, Trump bankrupted his casinos....CASINOS, something that, technically, should be impossible to do, but, being such a piss poor businessman, he pulled that off in spades.

Not only that, he bankrupted one casino, with a different set of backers, after he had already bankrupted another one.
