Can someone explain how MU time travel works?
Usual trope is, young traveler can kill old himself (and not vice versa because paradox).
But now young version cannot die (because "he does not") until he's killed by himself?
If however teen Cable and his aged counterpart are canonically AU/ parallel timeline versions, then they're *different* individuals, and there's no reason why old Cable cannot or should not be resurrected?

It doesn't work.

However the writer at the time wants it to work.

There is just one rule: it doesn't has rules

Ok ok it works differently according to who's writing, this is the whole suspension of disbelief that we've all signed on for, I get that, but I still expect the writers to work within the rules they've set, even if not universally, at least for this specific character and storyline?
So, if young Cable killed old Cable in "2019", and they're meant to be the same person, then this "suicide" is something Cable's already lived through as a teen and it's something he should be expecting as an old man.
That's not how the story was written IIRC? Old Cable had no idea his opponent was teen Cable, nor that this was the pre-ordained last day of his life. So we must be looking at AU versions with no overlapping memories and therefore with separate and distinct consciousnesses.
Conclusion: Bring Back Old Man Cable!

It's quite simple:

Cable could just be mindwiped or someone could just erase the knowledge of him killing himself.

Retailers are clearly acting OOC.

There is no reason not to bring old Cable back since they're different people and the original is not a wacky murderer. Which is what I would've said if Hickman came last year. Now? Old Cable's a boomer. He has no place on Krakoa.

Krakoa's no country for old men?
