The idea that this was a filler issue, to me, is odd. Hickman doesn't do filler issues. He just gave us the long-awaited return of the Children of the Vault and to me has reinvigorated them as a colossal threat, as said by Charles. I would suggest we wait and see what happens, which for some reason is a most unpopular opinion around here.
Common sense.
I won't be getting my copy until the weekend, but from the sounds of things nobody should be declaring this as filler with a serious face. At least not yet.
Serafina was in issue #1. This is continuing a plot thread, so it's clearly not filler.
Anyway, glad the Children are back and the art situation is better. Can't wait to pick this up.

The receptions Synch and Serafina received on these boards when they were revealed were beautiful. It's going to be a really fun ride. In Hickman I trust.

Yeah, this issue was far from filler.

Silva is way way way way better than Yu. It was great to see Synch again and get a little into his return since Hickman has mostly skipped over this stuff. The last 2 have been way better than issues 2 and 3 which were just duds. Give me the Children of the Vault over the Golden Grumpy Grandmas anyday.

I'm wondering if some of the new characters appearing in the upcoming Children of the Atom book could be the result of mutants and The Children of the Vault somehow creating advanced hybrid mutants. If Wolverine,Synch, and Darwin spend alot of time in the city they could interact and overtime could evolve into more advanced mutants that could possibly mate with inhabits in the city to create a different group of mutants?
It's a travesty that Silva isn't drawing this book regularly. The difference between him and Yu is night and day.

Say it again reading those panels were such a visual feast, and I'll readily admit it I'm developing an unhealthy obsession with Synch.
And more please of this representation of POC especially from the slowly budding bromance between Synch and Darwin.
Storm is as spectacular and cunning as always, put on a show!

X-Force used to be the best Dawn of X title but this issue pushed X-Men forward as the best so far. Hope this type of quality will continue, the story telling is great and art is also fantastic.
Will the three mutants age many years when they come out of the vault just like Magik?

I honestly wasn't sure which book to read first today because of the excitement. It felt like the old days. I greatly appreciate them getting Silva on this one because it deserved it.
I guess it all depends on Darwin's powers and how he adapts. Laura will age slowly but how slow is up in the air.

Who wants to bet Synce gonna come out of this in GOD mode?
-
This was great. Love the long form storytelling and building of villains Hickman is doing in this title. I never really got why people didn’t dig it cause it’s really the best X-book for me.
Laura’s sense of humor here >
A comics journalist on twitter heavily implied this issue would be important and would lead to something. People speculated it might be another spin off book but it could just be a larger story. Either way it sounds like this issue is important and there should be some sort of follow up.
I did think the issue was really good.
This doesn't look like a setup for anew book, but for a new arc going on in x-men book.

Can't believe folks bother with the world-building/potential-suicide-whatever-mission stuff rather than laugh their asses off over Storm/Armor getting the cover for themselves (LMFAO) and Laura clearly hating on whatever the efff is going on with her sort-of-dad and sort-of-step-dad.

She'll hopefully come around and get a small room in the Summer House. Gabby can sleep in the garage.

Lies, she likes her new step-dad and is happy for them.
