The very next time you see Rey on TV, he wearing a sling. It was on Smackdown.
I had to rewatch Smackdown, because I didn't notice the sling the first time around. Noticed it this Monday or RAW but not Smackdown. Yeah... it's more justifiable that Rey wasn't going to face Brock himself if he's injured.

right now, lucha bros and jack evans and angelico vs. the best friends and private party.

The intro song is really , not fitting this. Honestly I think its pretty decent as a show. I like the old school vibe. Course I always hear Cornette and think he needs to be a heel. Its like Bischoff , if you have him onscreen you can't ever cheer the guy.

AEW after dark was cool. Crowd seemed pretty dead for the women's tag match, which was a little botchy but not really bad I felt. 8 man and 6 man tags were cool.

I'm impressed with the talent they had on it. I didn't realize how many Impact alumni NWA has. I shouldn't be surprised as Corgan used to be Impact president before it got brought by Anthem.

I'm thinking that Corgan will use an early ROH idea before Sinclair bought the company. He will sign 10-12 people to deals , the rest will be paid per appearance and be floating in and out.
Also as Jim Ross detailed weeks ago in a podcast people may rip the whole 80's studio era and how low budget it was , but it served its purpose then. The TBS show was to sell the house cards and major events (PPV's etc). Basically an advertisement to sell those shows and make people attend. And it worked.

Of course, that business model requires that be a have major events. That may be tough in a market where there's so much competition.
That said, I liked their show. Had an old school charm to it. Wouldn't necessarily drop 50 bucks for a ppv though.

I can't see them doing monthly PPV's really. I think 2-3 a year (IPPV's possibly) with special big shows sprinkled through will be it. That will be the big shows they build and work towards.

I don't see NWA doing traditional PPV. They'll at best do iPPV.

Bwahahhahahaa. That's hilarious.

for AEW: the first match of the tag tournament, the bucks vs. private party.
for NXT: lio rush vs. wonderbread for the CW belt.
