If only Wally could've been there for this...

I agree. Otherwise, I really liked this development for Hunter. I doubt this is the last we'll see of him.

Its an interesting development but makes sense for Hunter considering that he was never really evil for evil sake. Just crazy and very mixed up.
I still really don't like them using Hunter at all against Barry.
Hunter, for me, was SO linked to Wally that seeing him against Barry just grates on my nerves.

I understand that, I really, really do. I might even say I feel the same way.
However, imagine Barry fans learning that the first time Thawne fought the Flash, it was Wally....
So, there's that.
If they fix Wally, this shall pass. The question is Wally to be fixed.

Dang.
Suddenly I want to buy a The Flash book again. (I mean one where Wally is not the lead.) The main problem there --besides little of my version of Wally being in the series save for Flash War-- is I'm really not fond of these different 'Force' powers or of the Speed Force sputtering out. How did these other forces fit into the DCU? Was Superman part of the Strength Force or the Wisdom Force?
Is there a Humor Force? I could get behind a Humor Force.
Yeah, Hunter was the second most tolerable villain for me. The first was Pied Piper (reformed). ((I really am not into villains.))

Wally and Thawne have personal history. Iris was as connected to Wally as Barry, after all.
The way I see it, Hunter is essentially given a status quo where a potential Wally story can easily pick up from. His characterization in Flash War was really off to me, Hunter has always been a "gray area" villain. He held his friendship with Wally in high regards in a twisted way and that last apology means a lot in that sense.
Besides everything, we have a Wally who has been through many awful things. He won't have a moral ground against Hunter.
Wally has been going around Speed Force and he's stated have a role in the upcoming Crisis, so I expect to have them a moment in it. This will probably the last of Hunter we see in Williamson era and the next we see him will be wherever Wally ends up being.
A bit of Flash Forward :

Can't wait to see what's coming with Children of Revolution !
Aaaaand, next week, there is the Flash Anniversary book with Waid's essay.
Was cool seeing 90's Wally, as well as the rest of the awesome 90's era, in last weeks Tales of the dark multiverse issue.

It's nice to see DC acknowledge their history, if only in an Elseworlds.

At least there is clarity in their alternate stories because there certainly isn't any sort of coherent history in their main universe.
