imagine if jason aaron actually put more than two wakandans on this team. though i will be reading for zub because i love him.
Lol, easy there. It's starting to sound like a quota issue! Seriously though I think this is more a spinoff of Avengers than Black Panther. For the record I would love to see a superspy agency done proper with Wakandian tech specialist and low level enhanced humans but acting on a global scale.

First Strikeforce and now AoW...These "hodge-podge" teams are quite intriguing.
Marvel is finally making an effort to fleece me of my hard-earned money.
-
Glad to see Black Panther and his team of agents getting their own book. Looking forward to see what they will be getting into.
-
This group screamed "spinoff" so it's kind of cool to see them actually do it, and Zub seems like a perfect choice :).
Although does this count as an Avengers spinoff, or a Black Panther spinoff ;)?
I wonder if Ka-Zar's secret involves Shanna.
I wouldn't be surprised if they still are and promotion is just focusing on the more recognizable members.
(isn't Man-Wolf a member too?)
Forget shanna- where’s Zabu?!
-
Cebulski really seems to love these '90s style X-Force-ish teams.
Anyway I'm glad Jan fans have gotten so much of her lately; she deserves it, though I'd still like to see her get back on the Avengers starting lineup again.
I just find it a shame that Zub's new project turns out not to have the Scarlet Witch in it, since Ewing says he's not assigned to do anything with her and Zub seemed the only other writer who might possibly use her...
-
It was a given they were going to get their own book.
The randomness of this team both interests me and puts me off... it's weird But I 100% will check this out, and definately want it to suceed. Hopefully it will connect with the Avengers book enough to actually be "important" rather than just a satellite book readers are going to ignore

Zub said this would be a Kirby-fueled Mission: Impossible which has me excited.

Yes: Broo, Roz, Man-Wolf, American Eagle, Doc Nemesis, and Fat Cobra will all be appearing in the series
Aww Yiss! Fat Cobra representing the big boy Asians. I'll never understand why we never got more stories with the Immortal Weapons

Honestly, this is where Kasper would be a good fit for the team given his new look. And i would of added in vibraxas or akilli (one of the FEW decent additions from Coates) to the mix. Or Nunakia if she makes it back to 616 or Shuri since she is losing the bast awful griot power
What is up with marvel and all these oddball teams? First strike force and now this! I’ll probably check this out, but I wonder if gorilla man being a double agent is going to be addressed.
Based on this quote from the interview --- "Both Ka-Zar and Gorilla-Man carry secrets that will cause strife as our series rolls onward. Ka-Zar's secret is one he's trying to run away from while Ken Hale's is more immediate, and it undermines his important role as Chief of Security for Avengers Mountain (as readers of Jason’s AVENGERS are already aware!)" --- it looks like that will be addressed in the story sooner rather than later.
As for your other question, I say better than just slapping the Avengers name onto every new up-and-coming team in the Marvel Universe.
-
brevoort please just announce new avengers i'm dying here
-
Marvel has no excuse not to try new teams. With everything "Avengers _____" it gets tedious after a while. Various other teams lasted longer or shorter tenures, but at one point, were there not teams of Champions, Avengers, Defenders and X-Men all active at once?
-
Yes there were, but that's part of the reason the original Champions failed. They lacked a niche, being just a place to put characters the X-Men and Avengers weren't using.

However, I bet that won't involve Wanda either, as based on the timing, I reckon it'll be an X book (Alpha Flight, perhaps).

I'm sold. Too many excellent weirdos in this book to pass it by.
Fingers crossed for Kasper Cole AND Junta, because let's be greedy.
