Jason was insane, even during the Battle for the cowl thing. I dont hold it against the character, i do think its inane that it was never properly adressed, a lot of character development could come from that.
I don't know why but DC really don't want an healthy bat family just look at Jason,Damien, ric grayson all of them now hate batman or aren't in the family anymore I'm sick and tired of the bat family always having to be at odds and rebirth being undone for edgy stories
It is more than edgy stories I think. The problem with the batfamilly is that they basically have the same set of habilities, and very similar personalities and dynamics, if they are all together they become redundan so they need a reason to be separated.
For Bruce to win alone he has to fight alone, then he can be smart without nullify Barbara and Tim or brutal without become an hypocrite with Jason and Damian.
The current DC, be editors, writers or management, don't seem able of balance multiple characters without distinctive powers .
Yep, gotta agree there.
It's one thing to say that stabbing Tim gleefully was 'out of character'... but at that point it really WASN"T. From Under the Red Hood, to Teen Titans, to Battle for the Cowl... He was insanely kill happy. The Jason there who wanted to be become the 'batman who kills' and having a serious mad one for any of the 'pretender robins', was pretty consistent with his portrayals since his rebirth.
Compared to the 'shady' things that other have done... that WERE unusual or out of character and plot driven... Jason's sins were the core of his character.
It's only considered out of character now after the reboot.
I know Dick redeemed Damian.
Bruce had big problems dealing with Damian. However, Bruce didn't exactly sent back Damian to Talia (ther are some events happening there). Although, at some point, Bruce wanted to give Damian (and Talia) a second oportunity to escape.
Bruce has rejected/fired/banned all the Robins except Tim--because his umbilical cord is still attached.

Jason's dip in the Lazarus Pit was more recent then than it is now, and it was likely some lingering effects from that that made him insane during the Battle for Cowl stuff. He's had more time for those effects to wear off now.
