It looks very weird to have the rest of them in team colors and then Jean and Cyclops not be
What team colors? Wolverine and Synch are the only 2 that match. Heck you can make the argument that Jean and Rogue match
Shoulda kept Darwin with the new trinity. I could careless about Sunfire, has anyone ever made him interesting? Put Rogue in her green and white, her and Jean in the same color combo irks me...
Lorna is also green. the closest we got to X-men: green

Trying to figure out Shiro's mask... Looks kinda Master of the World-esque.

And are those 4-armed gorillas with machine guns? :p

I'm very happy with the new X-Men roster. Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Rogue, Polaris and Wolverine I all love. The last X-Men issue really got me interested in Synch too, plus with hundreds of years of experience he's practically a new character ripe for exploration.
Sunfire... he's insufferable frankly, but not in a fun Quicksilver/Northstar/Namor kind of way. No writer has ever made him interesting in my eyes so Duggan certainly has his work cut out for him.
If I think about the in-universe explanation for this team, ie that the Krakoa population have voted for them, I can see most of the team making sense except for Shiro. Lorna and Anna Marie are long-standing members of various X-teams, both have been leaders in the past and would certainly be well-liked on Krakoa. Ev and Laura, and I mentioned this back when the last issue of X-Men came out, I can easily see as being hailed as the heroes of Krakoa thanks to their sacrifice fighting the Children of the Vault, with the Akademos Habitat in particular rallying behind them. Shiro... who on Krakoa likes Shiro and why? He hardly has any established relationships with his fellow mutants, sure he sacrificed himself in a recent SWORD issue, but so do many other mutants on a regular basis. I think it would have been more realistic (ie in keeping with the rules established for the election) if a villain got a spot on the team.
Rogue can do everything that Synch can do so he's redundant. Banshee would have been a better pick for the team with his unique powers and runner-up status.
Rogue is a white woman therefore she can't do one thing Synch can do :). And she thus redundant on team that already has two white women. Plus rogue is already in a book.
The team is fine as is but if we are talking a better pick for uniqueness we know who should go.

Too bad we are defined by our skin color now

For a moment I thought it was a new battle look for Professor X!

Nah the books have gone without representation at times, So it is annoying when people talk about removing the Black man and Asian man.
Again the team is fine as is it has some well need diversity while keeping popular characters around.

Does this automatically make Remy a supporting character?

I mean, you were the only one talking about removing someone based on their race but okay

Shiro just saved the entire island during King in Black. Each of the chosen characters have had 'big' important moments since the start of the era.

HUmm wonder if Duggan will do a Shiro and rogue romance
