It is, but I think this recent break allows The Elite aka The Golden Elite or whatever they go by (Kenny, Bucks, Ibushi side) to be full on faces now while the G.O.D. Division can stay and reestablish their BC cred as true heels.
I don’t know how Cody fits in truly, he should probably lead his own faction now. Or how Jericho’s ALPHA CLUB plays into this but through it all, the talent is incredible and matches between them is worth the inter-factional turmoil and confusion mess.
If they could just not continue to sell so many tee shirts then this breakup would be much smoother!
And as for J.R. - I hope he’s ok.
If it is a work, then they nailed it and now a Jay vs Josh feud could make for some nice Tokyo Dome booking.
-
It will be hard for Cody to build his own subgroup as he doesn't have any loyalists. Hangman Page might join him and I can't really think of anyone else.

Based on how things ended, Cody might just continue working with the Elite. They sort of ended things on a reasonably amicable manner.

based on what happened on the latest ep of BTE, it's pretty clear that cody is still with the elite and that drama is over and done with. so for my take, it's the elite vs. firing squad.

Four matches in and this G1 Special has been kinda bad.
Oh well, at least the crowd is pretty lively.

Up to the LIJ/Chaos tag. Goto/Cobb wasn't bad. Tag title match almost put me to sleep. Bushi seems to be the only one not going half-speed in this match. Match ended out of nowhere, too.
The title matches are gonna need to be "holy ****!" good to make this worth watching.

Finished the rest of the G1 Special. A few thoughts on the title matches:
1) The suplex that hurt Hiromu's neck was gross to watch. Have to admit it took me out of the match when it was pretty obvious that he was legit hurt there.
2) White/Robinson was easily MOTN. Best Jay's looked in New Japan and it was nice to see him actually put it all together for once.
3) Obvious announcer spot set-up was really freakin' obvious, but hey, it got Jay even more heat, so consider it a wash.
4) Juice Robinson continues to be awesome.
5) The main was bad. Wannabe epic garbagey brawl that pretty much failed at being epic. Caveat: I gave nary a **** about the Omega/Cody feud, so my emotional investment in this was pretty much zero.
6) Cody is goddamn lucky that he didn't get seriously hurt on that blown table spot.
7) Tama Tonga and the Tongans being done with the Omega/Cody slapfighting is probably about 3 or 4 months overdue. Honestly, it should've happened when Omega jumped the line as either of the OG Club members still around should've assumed leadership when Anderson left.
All in all, I liked the NEVER and US Tile matches. Everything else was honestly not worth my time.
roman reigns was there? LOL
my bad, i meant US title.
You left before getting to see Kenny freakin’ Omega?
Was Haku personally chasing you to your car?
i've seen and met omega a few times before. great wrestler and cool guy but he was just wrestling cody in a feud i didn't care about. just wasn't worth the hell it was going to be trying to get out the venue. it was so bad trying to get in we just got out of the car and walked the rest of the way.
And they are doing a great job selling Drew as a potential player. I think they built a legit main eventers here.
i like what they're doing with all the guys involved there.
Where is honorary Tongan Chase Owens?
they should get jacob fatu(son of tama/tonga kid who was haku's partner in the islanders) in the group.

that was scary. over all i had a good time, match for match i suspect the king of the indies tournament the night before was the better show but i had to check attending a NJPW show off my list.

The match between Cody and Omega wasn't very good to be honest. The whole "spot porn" form of wrestling can get quite exhausting.
That table spot is going into Botchamania.

So even when Asuka wins, she still gets beat down and humiliated afterwards. What a surprise. There's better be a good payoff to all of this (IE her winning the belt), but I suspect that there won't be.
I mean stipulations almost never actually work like they're supposed to in WWE (when's the last time that a steel cage actually did it's job properly for example), so I suspect that the shark cage won't stop Ellsworth from interfering.
