Colossus and Cyclops for the men.
Magik and Rogue for the Women.
-
Jean -- she's always had the coolest powers, The Dark Phoenix Saga is one of the best stories in comics history (and gives her the best iconography), and as a character has really aged well.
Emma and Monet -- they remind me of myself, flaws and all.
Illyana -- just such a cool character through and through.
Wanda (shut up)

Forge: has an interesting backstory, makes interesting choices, and his powers are as interesting as it gets; and whenever he shows up, I genuinely want to see what the guy is going to do next.
And the really weird thing is, he can pretty much play any role: he’d gladly just stay back at the base, improving the team’s medical equipment and handing out gadgets to 007 types like Q would; but he’s equally at home in the field, toting an arsenal alongside his teammates as they get the walking plot device in place to hack a computer or whatever; or he’ll even shrug and step up to play Team Leader, when the X-Men have needed a military man who’s learned from his mistakes to call the shots for a while. Or he’ll provide exposition to the leader — as the ‘magic’ expert, if the story doesn’t need him to play ‘tech’ guy — or he’ll simply go his own way, if he looks at this or that global-scale problem and figures he can solve it on his own initiative.

Cyclops. Initially, when X-Men #1 came out in 1991, I thought he simply looked the coolest. After i began actually reading the X-books, I just liked that for the most part he always tried to do the right thing, and even for a stick in the mud, he commanded respect.

For me, Archangel is my clear favorite. He never changes.
I could list more than these, but after Archangel I really like Polaris, Gambit, Bishop, Mystique, Siryn, M, Magic, Warpath, and X-23. But, my list here can change if I like/don't like how these characters or other characters are written.
I guess that I will mention that I don't pick favorite characters depending on if I can relate to them or not. I'm not looking for favorites because they remind me of me.
