AEW Dynamite Review 11/13/19 : "Full Gear Attitude"

With Full Gear over , tonight we will see the effects of this show. With a quick Russoesque turn involving MJF and a hot finish of Moxley/Omega ; what lies ahead ? Tonight Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara will challenge SCU ! We get a replay of the moments from Full Gear. We however don't see moments from Moxley/Omega even though it closed the show.

Jim Ross welcomes us to Nashville as fans start a loud AEW chant. Dark Order vs Jurassic Express with Marco Stunt again ! Nyla Rose tonight and we get Page/Pac again. Jon Moxley will start the night off. Kenny Omega will give us an update on his health as we see the scars on Kenny's back from barbed wire match. Both men going through barb wire was INSANE in a suplex. Kenny has a black eye and told to take the week off. Moxley was cleared as Omega doesn't look happy.

Moxley enters from the fans area as he is as insane as he's playing to camera. Fans pop for the out of control Moxley. Jon is facing a jobber more or less who loves baby oil. Tell me this isn't something comical from Attitude era. Moxley quickly takes control as the guy delivers his best move , an awkward back elbow. He tries again and is quickly reversed into a DDT finisher. No sweat broken as he works quick and takes the mic.

Jon jokes that one should count right ? He's a lot of things but he's not a liar. He told us all what would happen at Full Gear. As advertised ; Kenny Omega will never be the same again. The fans pop for Moxley. Jon claims that Kenny is one radical son of a bitch. That he has the balls to do what no one in AEW will never do. That he's on a pilgrimage to scorch the Earth of AEW and be the last son of b-- standing ! He challenges any man to come out and face him. He will be happy to let any man know how far they stack on food chain.

Have an ambulance on stand by. Say good-bye to their families and don't expect any apologies. Jon leaves the ring through the way he came as the announcers discuss Kenny Omega and his not being cleared this week. We go quickly into the Dark Order vs Jurassic Express. Stunt is out for another match as I'm sure Jim Cornette is not happy at this one. Stunt is wearing a dinosaur mask.

Jim Ross admires his courage and that he knows he's not the ideal size wrestler. But he loves the heart. Stunt charges as Uno and makes a good quick tag to Jungle Boy. Grayson and Jungle Boy work through some nice things and JB nails a nice drop kick. Jim Ross is high on Jungle Boy and his future. Stunt does a nice set up tag combo that could be a 619 but instead its a splash on the back of Grayson.

Then in a spot Stunt catches Uno trying a cheap shot in the ropes. Later he's combo tagged as Uno delivers an epic big boot to him. Grayson later in a spot delivers a senton splash on ring apron on Stunt as heels work the smaller guy over. Uno bullies on Stunt to get heel heat as we watch and then acts to hurt his fingers later as he's thrown into heel corner.

Back from commercial Stunt is still being worked over as fans cheer him on to rally. Then he eats a flat liner as Stunt is tossed like a rag doll into that side slam ala Abyss. Grayson tries to pull Jungle Boy off the apron and screws up. Stunt gets the hot tag and Jungle Boy is running wild with clearing the ring with a splash on Grayson on floor and cool knee to Uno for a near pin !

Stunt is working good tag combos with Jungle Boy until he botches on ropes. We see a huricanrana into a roll up pin attempt on Grayson that Uno shoves Jungle Boy into. Stunt is left alone and eats a dark side from Grayson and then him and Uno deliver their epic finish to Stunt to put him down. Then we see Uno get on the mic to taunt Marco.

Evil Uno tells the fans that he respects Stunt for his heart and size. Then makes the heel offer he join the Dark Order as a creeper. As Jungle Boy stops Stunt from accepting this we see Uno tell them to take em out. This has him try to put the mask on Jungle Boy as fans chant for Luchasauris ! The guy is a fuckin giant and he destroys all the creepers on his way to the ring !

The dinosaur then decimates Grayson after tossing a guy over the top rope. He can actually move at his size with ease ! I mean we see him do a back flip into a splash ! Jurassic Express is reunited after weeks .

In ring after discussing Jericho and the Inner Circle's plan to take all the gold Shawn Spears does his epic entrance of boring sitting in chair as Tully joins him finally. Back from commercial Peter Avalon is out and even though he's half the size of Spears he cuts a heel promo and has more presence than Spears. Next up is Darby Allin and the skateboard.

Excalibur sells Allin as someone who was homeless and all he had was skateboarding and living in his car. This is a 3 way dance basically as Darby is the more over of all 3. Avalon tries to take advantage comically as Spears and Allin argue. They toss Avalon as both men go through reversals. Aavalon back in a spot comically gets dropped kicked off apron by Darby.

Shawn Spears delivers an epic move to turn the ride as he delivers a face slam to him for a pin attempt. Spears is working over Darby then goes outside to drop the apron. Then out of the back comes Joey Janela as this 3 way match has now became a singles match as Spears is worked through the crowd by Joey. Over the top later in an epic spot Darby delivers the stunner that sets up the coffin drop off top turnbuckle.

Fans pop for Darby as he gets the mic and calls out his own death by challenging Jon Moxley. Well we hardly knew you Darby Allin. Good luck with challenging a man who literally destroyed Kenny Omega. After commercial Nyla Rose is out to challenge Danni Jordan. Jordan is clearly the jobber in this for Rose as its her AEW debut. Fans pop for Jordan.

Danni to her credit comes at her and eats a punch. Then later a big epic boot after trying to slug it out with her. Rose tries a choke slam and eats a slap to the face that pisses off Rose big time. She eats an epic lariat. The beating is on and fall away slam later. Then as her finisher she tiger power bombs Jordan into a pin attempt. They claim that Rose if she focuses her rage and more can do more.

They give a medical update on Dustin Rhodes injury and he suffered a radial bone injury . He will be back in a month according to doctors. Next week the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal will happen. 12 men will meet up as they will battle for a beautiful diamond ring. Shiavone does an interview with Aly who claims she's done showed people what she can do on Dark but now its time for Dynamite.

On the ramp is Awesome Kong and Brandi Rhodes. Aly tries to brawl with Kong on ramp and meets her end. She is tossed like a rag doll as Brandi as a heel cuts her hair as a trophy. A repeat of Full Gear as Jim Ross questions what the hell is going on with this. Jim Ross speaks for us all as we have no clue what Brandi is doing.

Jericho is out in his sparkling blue glitter suit. He is El Champion. Much to the chagrin of everyone in Nashville , he's still El Champion ! He proves to everyone as usual he is the greatest of all time baby. He's gonna keep saying it because he is gonna demand a THANK YOU from everyone in the AEW roster , front office , back office etc. He wants the THANK YOU from them , not assholes in audience. Then he runs down all he's beaten like Cody and calls him an entitled millennial son of a bitch .

Then we see MJF use the Cody entrance which doesn't shock anyone. Jericho seems a little surprised as well as . Maxwell Jenkins Freeman as Jim Ross tells us. Its MJF's 1st heel promo since well..the show began and his quick Russo face turn . Fans give him plenty of heat as they chant ******* as Chris allows him the floor. MJF taunts the Nashville crowd by claiming he threw towel in to save their favorite little wrestlers career.

MJF paints Cody as the real villain in this. That Cody couldn't give a real **** for anyone of you. That the real Cody only cares for himself. The sheep don't want to believe it. The real Cody is a liar , a user & abuser. The real Cody saw a young talented kid and make into his puppet. That the real Cody used him saying he wanted to be his mentor. The fact the real Cody Rhodes never game a damn about him. To put him under his thumb. Your thumb ain't big enough to hold him down as Jericho is impressed.

Your looking at the new face of AEW. Because Cody he's better. Fans chant as MJF and Christopher have a stare down briefly. He'd put him on his Mt. Rushmore . Both men tease their little birdies and start a comical exchange about joining Inner Circle. Then Maxwell does a rip on Jericho drinks too much bubbly and claims Chris would be delusional if he thinks he'd join them.

Jericho being a master rips back that they are both from Long Island , brutally handsome men. But he knows that MJF's parents got real horny 20+ years ago as he was beating Juventud Guerrero on WCW Saturday Night and had him. They do more fun heel work as both men claims Cody's the biggest ******* and share a laughing hug as MJF seemingly has joined the Inner Circle.

Then we get Cody arriving as he starts beating down both men in ring as out of nowhere we see Wardlow debut on TV ! He's a giant as he beats down Cody from MJF's instructions and does the classic Daniel Bryan/NXT invasion spot choking Cody out with his tie in ring ropes ! Referees finally get involved as all 3 announcers sell this big guy as a monster.

Page is out after commercial to face Pac again. Pac with some good kicks and goes right over the top to floor on Page. That he's so intense according to Excalibur after suffering his 1st loss. He does a wild front moonsault onto the floor on Page in a cool spot. Hangman dodges the black arrow and takes control throwing Pac into ring apron and then later delivers an epic power bomb off ropes.

Fans start a Cowboy **** chant. Both men test each other with punches. Pac in a spot later tries to do a spring board onto the ropes and eats a kick from Page . Hangman goes for a Windham like super plex and gets pushed off. Pac delivers a good drop kick to him. Then later eats another one to his back/neck era from behind. Pac takes control fully and beats on Hangman until he eats a side walk slam onto apron .

Then in a cool spot Hangman delivers a great moonsault at his size off top turnbuckle. Back from commercial we see a stare down as they exchange punches. Page tries the buckshot , blocks a kick and still eats it ! Then we see Pac and him go through reversals and Page delivers an EPIC lariat that twists Pac in the air. Fans pop big for this.

Pac nearly gets shoved into referee and stops as Page blocks a low blow. Then he eats an enziguri from Pac ! This has been full of good spots as fans chant for it. Pac lures Hangman into the corner and Page blocks it ! He then brain busters him on floor and later delivers the buckshot lariat ! A close pin attempt as Pac uses the referee later to delay [age. He delivers 2 big kicks to the head , catching him off guard as Pac continues to beat on a knocked out Hangman !

Jim Ross questions this and that the referee has to end this. That Page is out cold as Pac delivers the 360 splash and locks on his submission as its over. Pac is still mad. Backstage we see Bucks & Santana/Ortiz brawling. Ortiz eats the table while Santana climbs on a the machine and dives off on Nick . Later in a comical spot we see Orange Cassidy standing in bathoom for no real reason , hands in his pockets. Santana eats a super kick as he turns back after shutting the door as he's like...dude we don't need to see this.

Back from commercial Santana/Ortiz brawl with Bucks as they are on the ramp way. After clearing guards the Bucks eat the black jacks from the heels. Matt eats a table in a very NWO spot where a table bullseye is painted. Proud and Powerful tease leaving a hurt Nick as Brandon Cutler begs em off. Then we see them laugh and joke THEY LIED...and finally Private Party ends this beat down of the Bucks. Both men are helped out by referees. Next week is already set up Private Party vs Ortiz/Santana.

SCU is out as Daniels is back. All 3 men have a fun entrance to the ring as Daniels has his mic at stand by. Daniels has became the manager of the team it appears in this. Scorpio starts us off promo wise as he comically rips the town. Chris claims they brought some California love. Kazarian has the fans do a loud and proud SCU chant.

The announcers bring up that Sammy Guevara would have quite an honor to become World tag team champion so quick next to his role model Chris Jericho. Jericho comes out with Hagar as we see. Hagar is seemingly clapping after acting stone faced for awhile on TV. The odds seem pretty even given Daniels is back here. Justin Roberts hypes the crowd for Main Event.

Jim Ross brings up an interesting fact. Frankie Kazarian and Chris Jericho have both been in business over 20+ years. Both have never met in ring before til now ! Kazarian and Jericho start as both men test each other out as Kazarian eats a drop kick from the much quicker Kazarian. The Spanish God back in and he eats some arm drags and bar.

Scorpio delivers an EPIC side back breaker on Sammy. Then SCU deliver good team work on Guevara. Then later in a cool spot Sammy eats a big super kick into a back suplex. Then Jericho tries to get involved as he eats a drop kick for his efforts. The plan doesn't seem to be working as Chris is outside the ring. Back from commercial we see Guevara deliver his best offense with a side kick as we see Chris and him strike a sexy pose together !

Then we see the Spanish fly on Kazarian in a cool spot. Sammy tries a big splash and lands badly on his leg. Then he doesn't make the tag and stops selling it as we see. Scorpio makes the hot tag and starts working. Cool spot later Scorpio delivers a nice neck breaker. Sammy and Scorpio go through a fun series as finally we see Scorpio lock in the submission camel clutch type move. Chris breaks it up.

Hagar gets involved and takes down Kazarian. Then Daniels later tries to take him down and eats the ring railing from Hagar. Scorpio alone with Jericho delivers a TKO and gets a near fall. Jericho busts out Lionsault and its blocked. Then delivers a code breaker as he catches Sky off the top rope. Then in a great shocker , Scorpio reverses and rolls up Jericho in a small cradle as Chris freaks out ! Classic WCW era freak out ! He starts doing his WCW era going off over the loss as show ends.




The Good : Moxley's short lived match with baby oil guy is to set up his promo which is a very good one. The entire guy's act to throw the bottle made me comically think of something from Attitude Era.

Stunt coming out as the bullied small member of Jurassic Express works. I do think though eventually he'll be split off and can play the Whipreck type face who somehow wins in mid-card given his size. People can rally for that. Teasing a heel turn for him is interesting and the return of Luchasauris is nice. Guy has size and can move.

Allin himself has seemingly toned down his high risks and coffin drops on ring apron given he's working TV matches. As said before Darby needs to save those insane risk spots for the BIG shows and spots to sell. Not normal TV. This way he can have a longer career.

The MJF/Jericho promo was perhaps the best dual promo done thus far on TV. Both men its clear took very good work of who they were and sold it. Having them tease it twice and then share a comical hug was what made the promo work. But yeah a very good classic promo.

Page/Pac was one of the best matches on the show and given time to be something. Both men have a good chemistry and it seems that they are saying Pac won the series of this after the match ends.

The comical spot with Orange Cassidy was a very funny Attitude Era moment that even had a bad guy heel go , he really didn't need to see what Cassidy was doing in bathroom like that.

Sadly due to time the tag team match was a quick affair. Jericho doing a WCW era freak out at the end destroying things and going off over being pinned was pretty funny. Nice call back from Jericho there.

The Bad : Its hard to sell someone as The Chairman as we have seen La Parka called that for years and La Parka had more charisma than what Spears shows. And what is scary is La Parka doesn't know English to cut promos.

The matches while decent for the 1st 40+ minutes were moving so quick , its like the show was jamming to get as much into the 1st hour and set up post Full Gear deal that things were like a weird Attitude Era crash TV instance. From the opening to the 3 way dance we saw that ended so quick. All to set up next weeks TV at points.

Brandi Rhodes is another insane deal that comically is very Russo Attitude Era in a way. In one spot she's a face for her husband and acting that way. Then we comically see her doing a heel act with Kong. Its almost like watching an old school late 1990's RAW nearly with how people are acting at times in the show. I mean its not full Attitude Era given that the in ring work is a lot better for sure . But things have that flavor.

MJF's heel promo which was good , really comes after being a month comically as Cody's friend on TV. A fact fans chanted bullshit in this. I get they wanted to push Cody/MJF as a program. I just wish they had built more with them onscreen as friends before the quick turn.



OVERALL : *** Outta 5. Pac/Page was the best match of the night as the other matches and brawl was to set up next weeks show. The entire show again much to the anger of AEW fans had a classic Attitude Era presentation. I know some won't agree but the quick TV matches to set up promos and matches had that vibe as heel/face turns as we saw. But that Jericho/MJF promo was really damn good.
