Replying to some posts from the 2020 thread here since it's closed now:
..??...Wasn't Eli out front as one of the leaders? I mean if the conversation is about people being buried on the their own team.
I think they meant more in terms of popularity/recognition. Billy, Teddy and Kate are sort of seen as the faces of the Young Avengers team today, specially since they are the only characters who've been in every line-up of the team. Eli being so underrated and the fact that he's stayed in limbo for so long and still hasn't made a proper comeback is precisely why he's not really seen as a part of a ''big 3'', I think.
Young Avengers never really had a Trinity to me. Clearly Kate, Billy, and Teddy are the most reconized faces but Billy and Teddy alomst liked staying more to the background. Infact most did with just Kate and Eli being more upfront being almost co-leaders.
If we're talking about in-story, then yeah, I agree they don't really have a trinity. But off-story, I can see the argument as to why Kate, Billy and Teddy would be seen like that. And I don't think Billy and Teddy stayed in the background at all during their Young Avengers years. During the first arc of Heinberg's run, sure, they were more side characters, but from the second arc on they got a lot more to do. Teddy got a whole arc to himself to explore his origins. They had their moment in the Civil War mini alongside Xavin and Karolina Dean. The Secret Invasion mini also was pretty focused on Teddy. They had their own one-shots for Young Avengers Presents. They had the spotlight in the Dark Reign mini issue featuring Enchantress. Billy was front and center during The Children's Crusade. And then vol. 2 was basically the Billy/Teddy/Loki show. So... all things considered, they got a lot to do in YA titles. The fact that they weren't leaders never diminished their presence in those books.
A new Hawkeye prose story by Kelly Thompson, set in lockdown.

This was fun! I thought Marvel wouldn't make more of these after the one they made with Kamala. And this made me miss Kelly's Hawkeye book. I'm looking forward to whatever Marvel has cooked up for Kate this year, since they will undoubtedly want to put her in the spotlight at some point to promote the Hawkeye show.
Ramone is her "best friend" now? Is literally everyone Kate Bishop's best friend?
She can't stick to one, so Cassie, America and Ramone take turns. :p
Young Avengers might be the only thing that went better in 2020 than in previous years. I'm glad they are getting more spotlight.
Yeah when it came to friendships, Kate kind of became the Kitty Pryde of the Young Avengers.
She's charismatic AF and has a gazillion "best friends". Everyone considers Kate their BFF.
In, may the Young Avengers have an even more prosperous 2021.
I think they meant more in terms of popularity/recognition. This is exactly what I meant! I adore Eli, but as that user and you said, whatever behind the scenes issues that forced Eli into limbo caused him to sort of miss out on becoming a "face" for the team in the way those three are. Consider in the wedding issue it was Kate that got to have that moment with those two and not Eli, considering he knew them longer. And my worry, just to reiterate, was that important YA characters are going to get sidelined for characters that not only were never YA members, but for characters that also are getting their own show named after them. My fear is that in the MCU Billy and Teddy will be allowed to be out and open, but only just so that they can get good PR and build a fandom around them, all the while they're not too explicit so they can tone it down when they show up in movies.

Is it just me, or is her outfit just a bit more on the pink side in this art? Cause, not gonna lie, loving the color pallette lmao

Right? It must be exhausting being so sociable lollll
Also, side note, Happy New Year everyone! May 2021 be better for us all, and may the Young Avengers prosper!
Happy New Year to the Young Avengers and their fans :).
Yeah when it came to friendships, Kate kind of became the Kitty Pryde of the Young Avengers.

And Kitty goes by Kate now as well. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!
So Kate's a fake bestfriend basically?
Is it just me, or is her outfit just a bit more on the pink side in this art? Cause, not gonna lie, loving the color pallette lmao
I noticed that too. That lilac tone is definitely a borderline pink, and I love it too. I love when heroes wear bright colors.
So Kate's a fake bestfriend basically?
I wouldn't go that far. It's just writers with different priorities for the character. Thompson likes the Wattses, so it's no shocking she would want to push the idea of Ramone as her best friend. Nick Spencer brought back the idea of Cassie as her best friend when he was writing Astonishing Ant-Man 'cause it's not like she had any close female friend other than Kate. And then most other writers jump on the AmeriKate train because it's the most popular friendship. But I don't think it's that hard to believe that maybe Kate just sees all three girls are her best friends. People have more than one best friend in real life too, so I don't think it's a big deal.
HELLO??????? Actor Elijah Richardson was just listed on IMDB as playing Eli Bradley on two episodes of The Falcon And The Winter Soldier:
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm6677237/?ref_=nmmi_mi_nm
IMDB is not 100% reliable sometimes, but also like.... it's not like Eli is a very mainstream character and the actor is also not super popular, so it's really odd that someone would bother to fake this particular casting for two particular episodes, you know? I remember when someone faked Silver Surfer being on Avengers: Endgame through IMDB, but that was super obvious and something you would expect from a Marvel fan. This? Not so much. Also, there was some previous evidence that a character with strong ties to Isaiah Bradley was also going to be in the show. Granted, that ALSO came from IMDB, but the character is so obscure that I feel like I could apply the same logic here: why would someone bother to fake this? I hope it is true.
I think at this point a Young Avengers movie or series is only a matter of time.
Potential Falcon and the Winter Soldier spoilers:
[Spoil] we may have our Eli
https://www.murphysmultiverse.com/rumor-elijah-richardson-joins-the-falcon-and-the-winter-soldier-as-eli-bradley/ [/spoil]
If that casting is true, then all we have left is Teddy, Tommy and Billy, two of which we're guaranteed to find out in the coming weeks, with Teddy rumored as well. Exciting times! Nate as well, but we'll see if he's included at all given Riri coming in the next few years.

I've been under the impression that IMDB has gotten the smaller roles on these shows right, so this is definetely exciting!

Ever since they announced Kang's actor I've been thinking that they should have went for making him a woman as well and just merge the characters of Nate and Riri.

Oh geez no!
Keep them separate.
WandaVision will give us Wiccan and Speed, the Falcon and the Winter Soldier will give us Patriot, Doctor Strange 2 will give us Ms. America, Hawkeye will give us Hawkeye II, Ms. Marvel will introduce Ms. Marvel, Ant-Man 3 will give us an heroic Cassie Lang, and Ironheart will give us Ironheart. I think Captain Marvel 2 will give us Hulkling.

Murphy confirmed after he published this that he heard from his sources the casting is legit. That seals the deal for me. Very happy about this!

Marvel saving the casting of my faves for last is anxiety inducing. Part of me hopes that it's a ''saving the best for last'' scenario, which is why they haven't told us anything. If you look at the stuff they chose to keep under wraps for The Mandalorian... I can only hope Billy/Tommy and possibly Teddy will get that sort of treatment/reaction.
Secret Invasion seems like the more likely place for them to introduce Teddy, but I want him now!
Well, if the rumors about Teddy on WandaVision are true, you might just get that. I hope they are, even if his role is not that big, just because I want them to rip the band-aid off by revealing the last three major Young Avengers all at once instead of making us wait more.
Does Robert Morales have some kind of right to Isaiah Bradley or am I wrong? I thought I heard something to that effect, that's why they stopped using Eli as the Patriot and created Rayshaun Lucas. If Morales does have a creative compensation deal, will he get paid if FaWS use Eli in the series?

I'm not gonna pretend to know copyright law and stuff, but I'm assuming Eli's slow return to comics since the YA Marvel 80 one shot means that they've worked something out with him. Otherwise, I'm assuming they would've just pushed Rayshaun into FatWS instead, or just replaced Eli with America for the "stars and stripes" hero of the team in the MCU. As it stands now, that suggestion from one of the scoopers that said we're actually getting the Vol. 1 team might come true, given we have an idea of everyone appearing sans Nate.
Rayshauns costume is still better than Eli's "just a domino mask" suit. The full mask is so much better
But yeah between all the rumors and confirmed stuff this is gonna be the YA's biggest year till the inevitable Disney+ event series
New WV trailer shows an up close look of one of the twins, with the other just out of frame!!

ALSO, from a press release received by some people, WV will be 9 episodes, which definitely gives them time to age them up all the way to teenagers!

No shade but Kang the Conqueror seems so above Ant-Man and the Wasp. That being said maybe Nate will show up sans Jonas he was the only real love interest Cassie ever had.
No shade but Kang the Conqueror seems so above Ant-Man and the Wasp. That being said maybe Nate will show up sans Jonas he was the only real love interest Cassie ever had.
I think the idea is that he’ll be a villain for Quantumania, but like Loki, he’ll then move on to be the villain in the next Avengers movie.
Does Robert Morales have some kind of right to Isaiah Bradley or am I wrong? No one knows what the legal issue was. It was never made clear. Also, Robert Morales died, so the issue wasn't really with him, but with whoever inherited his estate. But I don't believe they would get any compensation from Eli alone, because Eli was not a Morales creation. I think Eli simply got caught in the middle of the situation due to his very close connection to the Bradleys, and Marvel felt like they couldn't use him until they sorted that out. Now if Isaiah does show up in TF&TWS, then yeah, maybe they have some deal for that. I think everything was sorted out by the time Eli came back to comics in 2019.
But speaking of creators getting credit, it just hit me that Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung will probably be credited under the special thanks portion of The Falcon And The Winter Soldier and Hawkeye credits, due to them being the creators of Eli and Kate. That's pretty cool. I guess they could also be credited on WandaVision, but that depends on how much the twins will be inspired by the Wiccan/Speed version of the comics. Otherwise, I think the credits will just go to Steve Englehart and Richard Howell for creating the original William and Thomas.

So cute! I saw some people pointing out that there seems to be something on the forehead of the baby in the shot, but I think that might be just a birthmark or a rash, not necessarily anything relevant to the story.
ALSO, from a press release received by some people, WV will be 9 episodes, which definitely gives them time to age them up all the way to teenagers!
I'm glad about the episode count because back when we thought the show would only have 6 episodes and one era for each episode, it seemed like we would only get them as teenagers in the last one. But with the way the show is being structured, it's possible we'll see their teen versions for more episodes, and maybe even more time too, 'cause I suspect the second half of the show will be longer than the first few episodes.
No shade but Kang the Conqueror seems so above Ant-Man and the Wasp. That being said maybe Nate will show up sans Jonas he was the only real love interest Cassie ever had.
I think Kang's connection to AM&TW is entirely because of the time travel concept, and MAYBE because of Cassie too. An older Nathaniel Richards interacting with her could be a potential setup for a Young Avengers production. Also, there are rumors from reliable sources saying Kang will actually debut in Loki first, so I think Marvel's plan for him is pretty extensive and doesn't include just a single production.
I'd also be willing to guess that WandaVision's post credits scene could have America Chavez in it

We're expecting the tv show to have post credit scenes?
Currently doing everything I can not to overhype myself for Wiccan and Speed's role in WandaVision. I would love for them to shine in it, but I feel like we'd have more (aka any) info on them if that was the case.
We're expecting the tv show to have post credit scenes?
I'm assuming the last episode will, as per tradition for the films. It'd hype up the fan base and keep the conversation going, which they definitely want.

That's not necessarily true, Disney and Star Wars managed to keep certain Mandalorian surprises like baby yoda and the most recent cameo under wraps. I suspect the twins are being given the same level of secrecy given they'll technically be the 2nd and 3rd YA members officially introduced (I know we know Kate is coming, but chronologically Billy and Tommy, and maybe even Teddy, will be the first to come after Cassie). Plus ,they might be key to the ending of WV, and thus are being kept under wraps to prevent spoilers.
Saw some talk on Twitter about a Wiccan/Speed/Hulkling casting leak, but the ''source'' is apparently some wiki page that doesn't seem reliable at all. I won't even share here because I honestly think it's BS. The person couldn't even get two actors of the same ethnicity as Billy and Tommy, and the actor for Teddy is pushing 30. LOL
I'd also be willing to guess that WandaVision's post credits scene could have America Chavez in it
I think it might be just Strange, actually. It was reported a while back that he was expected to be on the WandaVision set for a short period of time in late 2019, and I think it's possible he shot a quick scene that could be at the end of the show. America wasn't even cast back then, so I don't think she was a part of it.
We're expecting the tv show to have post credit scenes?
It's possible. Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. would often do what was equivalent to a post-credit scene, but the execution was a little weird due to the format of the show being on network TV. On streaming, though, I think they could do post-credit scenes the same way they do it in the movies.

All true. And that's what I'm totally hoping for, but I'm not expecting it. Once I start expecting it is when they can let me down and leave me disappointed.

They could just use scenes from the actual Multiverse of Madness movie. Ant-Man and Doctor Strange's post credits were scenes from Civil War and Ragnarok, plus WandaVision was doing pickups late last year after America was cast.
Glad that Eli is getting to show up on the small screen. This can only help his profile and highlights his potential to carry the Captain America legacy.
Regarding post-credit scenes, it's pretty easy to guess what some of the shows will tease. WandaVision will do Multiverse of Madness, Ms. Marvel will promote Captain Marvel 2. Loki would tease Thor Love and Thunder. Falcon and Winter Soldier and Hawkeye are harder to guess as there's no movies coming up featuring those characters.

If Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania is in fact some form of movie debut of at least a partial YA team like some have theorized, whether Cassie meets Kate or any of the other members, I could see Hawkeye teasing that. FatWS I could see teasing something to do with the Thunderbolts/Dark Avengers/whatever they go with.
Could a WandaVision post credit sequence be Billy and Tommy winding up in other places? That is if they follow the comics and have the twins disappear/get taken away from her.
Could a WandaVision post credit sequence be Billy and Tommy winding up in other places? That is if they follow the comics and have the twins disappear/get taken away from her.
I think it depends on how WV ends. If they do (which I hope they don't) make Wanda go all HoM, then I see them doing some riff on that storyline. Maybe not the whole retro-reincarnation thing, but perhaps when the bubble bursts, metaphorically or literally, they might get cast out. I suspect if they go that route, they get memory wipes as well to facilitate the comic plots revolving around them trying to find Wanda. That could even work for a subplot in DS2, assuming again that she ends up awol after WV. A memory wipe and displacement could also fit in with Teddy having a small role in WV. He could come in at the end and meet Billy and they hit it off, or maybe they met in the bubble and after it all goes down, Teddy like makes him remember *cough*with a kiss*cough*. Ya know, something dramatic like that lol
